Now in Athens

Now I’m in Athens waiting for tonight’s ferry to Crete. I’d have preferred to have stopped outside the port but missed the turning so an nearer than I’d expected. It’s a short drive to the ferry later.

So far things have gone fairly well although Switzerland was hard going due to tunnel closures and roadworks. I ended up going through Italy via Milano and the traffic was horrid.
The ferry from Venice was fine and the lady who served me at the port was the same as last year. By accident, on arriving in Patras, I ended up buying diesel from the same station as when I left last year. And the same lady served me there too!
It’s quite warm now and 10:21. This area of the port is a bit industrial but I don’t plan going on a sightseeing tour of Athens so I’ll just sit it out here until this evening.
