No Internet

Just a quickie because I’ve had no Internet for 24 hours

It has been very cold here with strong, cold winds. Yesterday, in particular, it was down to 9C in the evening, not helped by a cloudy day.

Today it is sunny but still not very warm: 13.5C. The wind is very cold too.

I have to use my phone because of problems with the Internet in the entire area. Storm force winds affected the power for 2 days, with interruptions most of the day yesterday. Now we have power but no Internet. Apparently, Hania was particularly hit by the storm.

Ok here though, just lots of wind and stuff washed up on the beach.

Later…

More snow on the mountains which are cloaked in thick, fluffy, white clouds. I was watching how they billowed up into the sky in between throwing balls for Boris. We have several chosen ball-throwing locations where there is a relatively clear zone for ball retrieval all around. They are mostly rock outcrops or platforms higher than the surrounding ground. And here I stand with my ball throwing tool until one of us, usually me, gets fed up.

Dave and I went for a drive around the camping earlier as I was planning to find somewhere I could get more sun and thus warmth during the day. Having done some research recently, I had earmarked a couple of likely spots. Sadly, when the van was actually located in any of them, the Internet connection was too poor. We ended up coming right back to where we began.

I perhaps mentioned that yesterday was quite cold so I have reluctantly resorted to wearing socks and boots when out walking. Strange, seeing that we were in the sea on Sunday. I even put the heating on once the inside temperature dropped to 13C. I was getting protests from certain quarters. I tried explaining that the dogs from the camping live outside all year round: but they weren’t having any of it. I put the insulation pad in the roof light, pulled down all the blinds, drew the curtains at the windows and the one separating the front, and turned on the heating. Although I’ve used it before, it was mostly in Walton, where I put it on for a couple of those cold nights at the end of August. The van heated up quickly to 18.5C with it turned up full, and then kept a constant temperature until bedtime. The outside temperature at that time was 9C. Dave was in the front when I ignited the heating and only became aware of the different temperatures on either side of the curtain when he came for a drink. He then jumped into Boris’ bed when Boris foolishly decided he wanted a drink. Boris then grumbled and moaned and I’m sure Dave did it simply to annoy him.

I was watching Britain and the Sea and also the Dr Blake Mysteries. I’ve watched Paradise this week but not Last Tango as I’ve had no Internet to download it with.

Hopefully, it will be back on soon so that I don’t have to keep paying for data and have to use this piddly keyboard on my phone.
