Fruit from earlier

The unrecognisable fruit mentioned earlier is the pomegranate which grows nicely in the neighbours’ garden with the branches overhanging that of Κεριά Σοφία. It came to me in a moment of inspiration confirmed by reading about it on the Internet. Apparently, the pomegranate originated from Iran and as far as India in the Himalayas but has now become well established in the Mediterranean region as well as North America. The fruit can be kept for some time without spoiling and is eaten traditionally in Greece on New Year’s Day so I am told.

Now I know that the lock on the fence in the garden has nothing to do with keeping the entrance closed, I may venture back to obtain additional stocks of pomegranates and to explore the garden further. Today, however, I am figged-out so will not bother for a couple of days.
