Early up

Both Ursula and I, independently, got up early at 05:15. Oskar was experiencing some sort of gastric emergency causing him to whine to get out so I got up. He later confirmed the level of his inconvenience in the field as we left for the walk. We encountered Heid and Ursula as they were making their way onto the Promontory. Ursula was awake so decided to get up early too.

The sky was hazy making the almost full moon work harder. The dogs raced off to play and Boris ran after his ball. There were a couple of cars parked in the Grammeno Beach car park so I decided to keep the four usual candidates back to prevent potential difficulties. We returned to the camping for a cup of tea around 07:30 then Ursula went to the supermarket and I took a support call.

A scrumptious fruit salad with Tony and Ursula before preparing for my weekly phone call.

I caught up with the previous day’s blog and enjoyed some relaxation in the sun before a rather belated al fresco shower. The sun is less powerful now so it’s better to shower earlier in the day.

A fairly large brown dog is staying opposite the storeroom entrance so a certain amount of echo-barking has taken place. Five and Micky were plying their trade at the restaurant when Tony and Ursula went for a meal. Georgia was entertaining a number of her friends so I understand.

Lively music and singing emanating from Delino restaurant suggests a wedding celebration which is likely to continue into the early hours. I hear the sound as it drifts over the top of the storeroom roof. Campers nearer to the boundary fence may be less pleased.

I picked up two packages from reception yesterday evening. They contained the bearings for my anemometer which I had ordered from USA. I took the precaution of paying for and ordering two sets but they appear to have sent four sets. Some system error by the looks of the documents enclosed within. I have three spare sets of bearings now. Anemometer bearings have a rough time with the wind, dust and salt so I’ll be able to change them regularly.

The dogs are munching their supper to the accompaniment of the music from Delinos.
