We are waiting…

It was warm in the night and there was a little barking from my lot. I don’t know what set them off but I later heard a car leave Grammeno Beach car park at around 03:00. Not many people are about at that time to walk their dogs or look at the view.

I even went out in shorts this morning for the early walk.… Read the rest

Poor Oskar!

There may have been a little noise in the night but I didn’t seem to notice. We were out at the usual time via the Private Entrance for the last time. The wire, trough and pile of discarded pepper plants littered the exit onto the stony beach road. Oskar seemed a little distracted and kept darting about.… Read the rest

Penultimate day

No rain this morning but lots of activity instead. Having done very little exercise yesterday and been totally shamed by Ursula, I was determined to make it up today. She went to the gym yesterday closing all of her circles with 211% on the Move circle. More than twice round! I’ve never achieved that!

We went to the end of the Promontory but Boris had no ball so was a little dismayed.… Read the rest

Very damp day!

I was messing with EG servers until late but fell asleep so went to bed. Once in bed it was a very short while before I was asleep. Rain was falling when I woke up so decided that walking wasn’t on the list for now. Slept until 07:00, when normally we’d be coming back from our walk, and then got up to go out.… Read the rest

Servers!

Pea is not my favourite dog!

My night was disturbed on several occasions due to Pea making a racket. I shut him up by shouting at him but soon after, he was at it again! Finally, when I got up and went to deal with those in the storeroom, he decided it was time to bark some more.… Read the rest

New shoes!

I fell asleep watching a film last night only to wake up when it was on the second time around. Maybe I should have gone to bed earlier.

Ursula, despite not wearing her Apple Watch for the entire day, managed to do more than me even though I did two dog walks, a cycle ride to Paleochora and back, walking around the camping and taking Dave!… Read the rest

Quieter today

After a manic day yesterday, things were calmer today. All dogs were free on the walk this morning as no one was in the camping. Not the case now as the Swiss couple from yesterday arrived and have set up their tent in the restaurant area as I warned them of the possibility of rain on Sunday and Monday.… Read the rest

If it’s not one thing it’s another…

The night disappeared quickly and it was time to get up. I don’t seem to have stopped since then. Just one thing after another.

A trip to Paleochora to pick up some hypodermic needles for Dave

A pleasant ride back assuring I would complete all of my exercise circles today.

The customer who arrived last night and was, I thought, staying for two days, came to pay and then left.… Read the rest

Rushing around

A wonderfully quiet night. Oskar in the storeroom again but in a cage next to Luis and Five tied up outside hers to prevent her from rushing around the camping barking.

I hoped Fido would be sensible but kept Pea, Princess and Luis on the lead following the barking incident the previous evening. Fido went out of his way to visit the location where the people were and bark.… Read the rest

Heating on!

If it’s not one, it’s another! Woken the other night by Five and last night by Oskar. He has been a little noisy recently during the night. I think it’s his hormones as he’s got a little stroppy. At around 02:00 I had reason to admonish him again for waking me up. He ignored my polite requests so I dragged myself from my pit to confront him face-to-face.… Read the rest

Manic Monday!

The night was punctuated by Five (AKA Πεντέ) barking earlier in the evening and then from 02:00 – 03:30. I shared my displeasure by sending a series of emails to Maria via Georgia’s email account. Georgia is not very good at English but you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to get the drift. Five will be tied up tonight so I can get a good night’s sleep.… Read the rest

Unexpected outing to a restaurant

It was wet. Very wet! After writing my blog yesterday we received another 7.6mm rain up until midnight. It fell very rapidly over about an hour. From midnight until it was time to get up at 05:30, there was a further 9.7mm giving a total of 18.3mm during the hours of darkness. I was concerned that Oskar and perhaps Luis might be getting a bit damp however they both emerged dry and happy when I dug them out.… Read the rest

Rainy day Saturday but sun in the afternoon

There was a certain amount of squeaking going on at about 05:15 this morning. I could tell that Luis was having some sort of gastric emergency. I donned my coat and went out into the rain to let him out into the compound.I was relieved to see that he was relieved. Whilst I was there, I decided to let Fido out as well.… Read the rest

Funny weather

A certain small dog called Five was running around the camping last night barking. My blissful slumbers stopped being so blissful at around 03:00 although I did manage to get back to sleep after a while. I was fast asleep when my alarm went off so I was wondering what the buzzing and vibrating was on my wrist.… Read the rest

It’s not cold

Plenty of stars to look at as well as the final bit of the moon. It was windy again and the sea was quite annoyed. We didn’t walk along the rocks but had a good walk until it got light and Boris got fed up fetching his ball. No dramas or excitements.

The morning was sunny and warm so Dave and I went to the beach for a little potter returning via the Private Entrance.… Read the rest

Vizsla on the beach

Awake before the alarm so we were out on time. The moon is fading fast so there was little light and almost no stars. A motorhome was parked in the Grammeno Beach car park. But nothing stirred within as we came past.

We didn’t go along the rocks and the lagoon was fuller than yesterday. The sky was very dark making dawn come a lot later.… Read the rest

Sprouting up all over the place

A lie-in this morning until 06:00! My alarm woke me at 05:30 but it looked particularly uninteresting outside and none of the dogs was moving. I set myself a timer for 30 minutes and enjoyed the comfort of my bed a little longer. When I finally surfaced I was pleased that it hadn’t been raining recently and didn’t look as though it might, at least for a while.… Read the rest

The Russians arrived

It was extremely blustery when we went out for the morning walk, I was not in much of a hurry to jump out of bed as I knew it might soon be raining. Fido was pleased to be let out as he needed to drink some of Dave’s water before leaving. Dave was up and about, waiting for his first medication of the day.… Read the rest

East wind

I didn’t really have much enthusiasm for jumping out of bed at 05:30 but that situation gradually changed. Obi had been released from the bondage of the SDC following several days of having to rough it with the riff-raff. He waited patiently for approval to jump up onto the seat when he came back into the van and quietly passed the evening by himself.… Read the rest

Smells good!

Even Obi went out free on the morning walk. Usually, I let only Boris, Charlie and Oskar go out as they are marginally less stupid than the others. Obi did well and was there all the time with no hint of escaping off anywhere. He was attached on the return as I didn’t wish there to be any lapse given the customers in the camping.… Read the rest

The flies are back with a vengeance

Despite being in bed just after 22:00 yesterday, and sleeping right through the night, I was sound asleep when the alarm went off. I had been awake for a few moments during the night as I recall hearing the patter of raindrops upon the van and awning roofs. It didn’t last long and I wondered if the morning walk might be postponed.… Read the rest

Dave goes AWOL and I close all of my fitness rings!

I was fast asleep when the alarm went off this morning so I nearly jumped out of my skin as my phone was right by my head. I took off my watch last night to charge it and fell asleep before it was fully charged so was not wearing it.

Fido was pleased to see me when I let him out.… Read the rest

Fido was making a lot of squeaking noises during the night, despite the fact that the minimum temperature was only 18.1C. He was in the large crate which is in the SDC just in front of the van. Consequently, I could hear him easily. Tonight I have plans for him which include a trip to the storeroom where he will reside, along with Dave, in the Pea/Princess cat box.… Read the rest

Obi’s choice

It wasn’t chilly in the night only 14.9C so the dogs didn’t have too much to complain about. Obi had a place to himself as Princess was under the awning. Pea found himself sharing with Oskar which might not have been to his liking.

Princess was not allowed off the lead for this morning’s walk due to her high jinks the previous evening.… Read the rest

Princess!

A very enjoyable early walk without rain, wind or trauma. A few stars and Venus but it’s a bit late to see much at 05:45 especially now we have the moon again. It looked particularly attractive with its reflected light over the calm sea. We went over the rocks and onto the cliffs and all around.… Read the rest

Quieter now

It was a speedy walk today as I was not in the mood to hang around. Fido and Luis found themselves outside last night as they had a go at Boris before the evening walk. So they missed the walk and stayed out all night. This morning Obi didn’t return at the end of the walk and was found with the Swiss couple in T2 when I went to see them.… Read the rest

Minnie is united with her forever family! Well done Ursula!

I awoke to the sound of rain on the van roof. I decided I didn’t fancy getting out of bed to walk dogs in the rain. We all went back to bed until around 06:15 and then set off for the Promontory.

The sky was still very cloudy so hardly a star in sight. Big banks of clouds piled high above the mountains towering menacingly.… Read the rest

German vets

There were a few more stars with Orion and Venus in view. Passing clouds and a few larger masses over the mountains. I had Pea on the lead as he was due to visit the German vets. I didn’t want him eating or drinking anything beforehand.

Antonis took us up to the clinic in the mountains not far from Paleochora in Kalamos.… Read the rest

Today I went shopping!

Out at 05:30 again to a starless sky. It was not too windy but somewhat cloudy. We kept moving and everyone behaved nicely. We were back at the camping just after 07:00 but no tea and chat as I had stuff to do.

I have put the bungee balls all around the sail shade as previously, the lower part was attached to the frame by a former washing line.… Read the rest

Don’t they know it’s November!

Later up today as I felt it was a good time to change my getting up time now the clocks have gone back. There were no stars by the time we reached the end of the Promontory. Boris, Oskar and Charlie were not put on the lead this morning so were allowed to accompany the others as we went through the gate into the field next door.… Read the rest
