Fido was making a lot of squeaking noises during the night, despite the fact that the minimum temperature was only 18.1C. He was in the large crate which is in the SDC just in front of the van. Consequently, I could hear him easily. Tonight I have plans for him which include a trip to the storeroom where he will reside, along with Dave, in the Pea/Princess cat box. He has to learn that silly noises are not acceptable, especially at night. Not that he was loud, only persistent.

The morning walk took place in reverse. Boris abandoned his ball on the Large Beach last night. As it was dark, I really couldn’t be bothered looking for it. We ended up coming back in the dark as Xanthippos takes Georgia’s dogs at 17:00 and sunset is around 17:24. It means that I have to feed them in the dark but at least I don’t have to go out too early and have to worry about clashing with the other dogs.

So far, today has been mostly cloudy with rather muted sunny intervals. It is not cold.

I decided to record Dave’s workouts using my Apple Watch. The watch uses GPS to work out where you are and how fast you are moving. In Dave’s case speed is not the dominant factor. I will record all of his activity today to get an idea of his exercise capacity so I can make comparisons.

Dave’s morning workout. The red dots show where he did most of his snuffling.

The heart and energy statistics are mine and not his. I think it might be a little difficult for Dave to wear an Apple Watch on one of his legs.

Dave’s second exercise was a little shorter than the first. As you can probably make out, it starts off the same but cuts up through the filed to the Personal Entrance and into the SDC.

The distance is less than the first although his speed is hardly impressive. At least he’s going for walks and is all up for it when I go into the storeroom to get him out.

Dave had his food and treatment earlier again this evening as it is then possible to walk him during daylight and it fills up the time whilst I’m awaiting the return of Xanthippos.

I also went on a trip to Βλησιδησ supermarket and bought some fresh veg and other bits and pieces. On the way back I looked at the construction site close to the camping entrance. I’m not entirely sure what it’s going to be but guess it might be a larger vegetable packing plant. I shall have to ask Antonis as I’m certain he will know. If it is an enlarged plant, there will be an increase in heavy vehicles although the drivers will be delighted not to have to back into that narrow entrance all the time.

It is certainly not cold this evening as I’m sitting on the decking writing this at 19:07. I have been inside the past couple of nights as it was far too cold for sitting around exteriorly.

With a minimum of 18.1C today and a maximum of 23.7C one cannot complain about temperature or sunshine as we’ve had both. There were quite a few clouds this morning though. If the weather forecast is correct, all that is going to change on Sunday with the arrival of somewhat damper conditions.

I think I might check out my van roof again if that lot is on the horizon as there is the potential for a total of around 75mm over those days, some 3″ for those who prefer rods, poles and perches.

Fido does not appear to be making any noise from his storeroom location
