A new dog!

Well, almost, but not quite. I spent some time this afternoon clipping Princess who has been carrying too much hair for far too long. She loves to roll and scramble through the bushes and isn’t always so good at keeping herself tidy. Unlike Pea who, despite jumping into the sea and rolling in the sand, always looks smart the next time you see him.

Ursula did the groundwork last week by brushing out the main part of her body. She bathed her and removed most of the Promontory which she discovered in the plastic bath later. Ursula commented that Princess was in a mess and I saw that Andrea had just clipped her three dogs last Wednesday. I decided to cast caution to the wind and to clip Princess.

She is very amenable and will stand still whilst you clip her. I used scissors to remove the long hairs and clippers to do the remainder. It’s the first time I’ve clipped a dog so she wouldn’t be winning any beauty contest. She looks about half the size and so much better. Having sorted her out, I shall make a point of clipping her regularly to keep her in order.

The day has not been that busy and I’m not exactly sure what else I achieved other than to clip Princess.

Usula made banana bread from some bananas left by the occupants of T3 who left yesterday afternoon. They also gave us some milk, cherries and nuts.

The banana bread was very tasty and was made using rolled oats and bananas amongst other things. The recipe says it will keep for about one week, however, I suspect it won’t have to pass that test.

The camping is reasonably quiet now that the holiday weekend is over. Most of the accommodation is empty however a few tents and motorhomes remain. Olivia has been busy today cleaning the rooms and catching up with all the washing. She also found time to clean all the toilets and the bathrooms.

There is a noisy dog barking in one of the gardens nearby, one of Georgia’s dogs is making quite a racket and Πέντε is running around the camping barking. I might go and try to catch her if she continues to be disruptive. All my dogs are quiet having been for a lively walk over the rocks returning for their Wednesday meat night.

There is more spinach and rice this evening as there was a lot left from yesterday. I see no point in making up a small amount and like to be able to put some away for a rainy day.
