Blow me down!

No wind hardly at all to begin with today as we sauntered to the Promontory end. I’m still wearing my heavy fleece as I find it chilly first thing in the morning. The dogs were almost as animated as they were yesterday and had good fun chasing their glowing balls and playing together. The moon was full and high in the sky providing plenty of light. I even walked the rocks without a torch.

It was getting light as I went for my run however I took my flashing band anyway. It is generally much cooler in the morning with some warm pockets of air on the more sheltered parts of my route. I was back in the camping in under forty-two minutes and Ursula was ending her Pilates session assisted by Obi.

We drank tea when I came back from my shower and then I went off to Paleochora for some shopping. After breakfast I did some more IT support work with the Lovely Louise at EG. Today we were trying to get some software to cooperate albeit unsuccessfully.

I have been busy for most of the day as time seems to have raced by.

The camping is still quite busy, mostly the accomodation with few customer tents and a couple of motorhomes. The next few days are likely to be windy and possibly wet on Friday and Saturday. The combination of wind and rain is likely to discourage any visitors this weekend, and encourage those who are here to review their plans. I was speaking the the German guy who has a young family in T3, right next door to Tony and Ursula. I was explaining that weather forecasting is not an exact science as there is a microclimate here and we’re on an island in the middle of the Mediterranean. We can be pretty sure that it will be windy for today and all of tomorrow so the beach will likely be off the menu for a couple of days. Tricky if you’ve come for a bucket and spade holiday.

The new canopy is standing up well to the windy conditions so far although I’m sitting down the western end of the deck. The eastern is much more exposed.

The dogs and I went for a brisk Evening walk and they didn’t appear to require too much persuasion to go into their houses for their tea and bed. Those in the Antonis-built houses will survive anything and the others, in the more lightweight accommodation are right up against the storeroom wall protected by Janne’s fence on the south side. A large concrete block is on top of The Pea House.

I chucked a load of vegetables, spices and herbs into the Instant Pot and left it to get on with its life when I went for tea with Ursula and Tony. I must look inside and perhaps consume the result.
