Better late…

I had a visitor this evening. Not that he stayed late, just that Obi ran the gate as he came into the compound. It was not just Obi but Fido too. He came back soon enough but Obi needed to visit everyone in the camping. He visited Maria in reception, any customers who would pet him as well as the bar and the beach. I eventually just followed the racket he was making on the road parallel with Alonáki Beach and got him back. Naughty Obi.

The new friend was from South Africa and was introduced by Peter who left yesterday. Conveniently, his name is Peter too. One fewer name to have to forget. We chatted but he wanted to go to bed as it has been a bit noisy over the weekend so he’d been disturbed by all the movement around him. I then had to patrol the camping in my quest for Obi.

He’s back now so all safely gathered in as someone might say.

It has been a reasonably uneventful day. The Early Walk was uneventful but successful. There were loads of cars in the beach car park and I located some of the people in a popular place for FreeLoaders. I walked round one time with Skinny and Charlie with both on the lead. Located the FreeLoaders then swapped Charlie out for Fido and Obi. Then took Oskar and finally Luis. We all played ball together at the end and came back. It was a lot less stressful than yesterday.

I passed the morning catching up with some IT jobs for Inter Sport and LBS. The afternoon disappeared as did the multitudes which had been thronging the camping since Friday and Saturday. Maria reckons there were probably 200+ present for the weekend. She thinks it might have been a record. Most of the customers were Greeks. But now the camping is quiet again with only very few at the bar as I walked by looking for Obi. Maria was in her counting house counting out the money. She said she’d seen Obi but he’d left…

I wrote a little piece about Skinny for those who were in the camping during the winter and who’d perhaps taken an interest in him. I felt they might like to know that he was now being looked after. I sent it to some of the German couples who had dogs. Antje and Marcus, with Labradoodle, Muffin, replied very promptly and offered to sponsor Skinny for a year! Very kind and generous of them.

It’s just gone midnight so I’d better be going to bed.
