And then there were four

I dragged myself out of bed at 06:30 to walk the dogs. The intention was to walk a lot further but I wasn’t feeling that great. I think all the antibiotics etc from last week have caught up with me. I took all the dogs. We managed three circuits and then came back. I wasn’t up for eating so spent much of the morning drinking tea and sleeping.

I fed the cats to discover I seem to have acquired an extra kitten! The mother cat disappeared almost as quickly as she arrived.

The day rumbled by until a stranger came to my gate. It was Alex who arrived at Grammeno the same day as me back in 2013. He came to visit three years ago and then went on to Gavdos. Alex is living in Norway and works self-employed as a coach driver. He tells me he now has a place which he’s built for himself out in the wilds where he lives in summer as it’s too cold in Winter. Yesterday, he decided to come to Crete to see if I’m still at Grammeno.

He likes to be on his own much of the time and the camping is already too full so he might sleep on Alonáki Beach. He came out with me and took the Brown Dogs which was a help as I’m not feeling that great. We sat in a lovely spot at the end of the Promontory and passed the time chatting, He wanted to visit Dave and Boris which we did on the way back. The group went later for their meal this evening so there was just a little barking but I did my best.

I’m having a cup of tea and then I’ll see how I feel and may go to bed. I’ve done quite a bit of sleeping today so I’m not going too early to bed.
