The wind blew hard all night and was still going strong this morning. Not enough to prevent the Early Walk or Skinny and I running but cool enough to require a fleece earlier. There were no excitements and IZO didn’t go AWOL due to not being given the opportunity. Skinny and the others came back as expected and they had a great time charging around ragging together. IZO wanted to join in but I wasn’t sure if it would turn sour and I was pretty sure he’d disappear into the camping after a short while. IZO dragged Obi and me over the rocks supported by all the others. They returned and we walked back to the camping.

Skinny and I managed to run the entire course without stopping. Never a problem for Skinny anyway but I was struggling a bit last week. A weekend of walking rather than running and we seem to be back to ‘normal’ whatever that is. I didn’t fancy the sea as it was churned up and windy to I wandered up to hand in a lost (found by me) bank card to Maria passing by Sascha and Steffi on the way. We talked about their return to Berlin on Friday and they have preemptively booked a taxi to take them to Souda so as not to drag me out. I offered anyway but they said it was all booked and taken care of.

Maria and I had an interesting conversation about water heaters and I appear to have volunteered to be heater switcher-onerer again. How Olivia will react to this I know not as she can be a little territorial about things domestic. That said, I notice standards are slipping a bit in the toilets near me but at least the paper is being replaced when needed. I later presented Maria with a broken cistern component as I found it damaged when I went to the shower. We’ll see how long it takes to get fixed. I don’t care much anyway as I know how to operate the cistern without the button thingie. They are made of flimsy plastic anyway. I suspect there might be spares from deceased cisterns should one know where to look. Am I bovvered?

Breakfast followed and then a day to limited activity which included a few emails and some general poking about. I spent time setting up Janne and Erica’s phones and Erica’s prehistoric iPad with software to allow them to monitor their CCTV camera in real-time as well as view recorded video. They are now happy campers. They had a visit from one of the kittens. I discovered the kitten enjoying sitting on Erica’s lap being petted. These guys are not really into pets however this particular kitten knows which buttons to press.

The Evening Amble was calmer albeit less exciting that recently. No waves whipped up by the wind or struggling against the force of the wind as we plough across the fields. Nothing more adventurous and we return to the camping. It’s been dark for a while. I’m sitting outside. There are more insects than recently as it’s calm. I need to get something to eat or it’ll be bedtime.
