Parcel Tuesday

The Early Walk was very pleasant and I was able to see the Planet one needs to eat daily in order to work, rest and play. I notice the marketing omits risks of obesity, dental decay and increased likelihood of diabetes.

There were a couple of calls in the morning and Ursula took Isabella for a walk around the Promontory. I went to the office to discover I’d received one of my outstanding Chinese packets as well as a docket for more. I’d been into Paleochora for shopping first thing but was happy to go in again to get my packages.

I was about to set off for the post office when I saw a German motorhome parked opposite the reception. I tried to speak to the woman who didn’t understand English but told me in German that her husband was exploring the camping. I found him and we talked about prices and their proposed trip to Gavdos. I explained that the ferry is certainly not a daily affair and tends, like most things in winter, to go depending on the weather. I pointed out that being marooned on Gavdos is also a possibility. I explained that I wanted to go to the post office which was shutting soon but I’d be back very soon. I rode into Paleochora to discover that the post office is closing at 13:00 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and closed all day on Tuesday and Thursday. I met the German motorhome on the road from Grammeno so they’d obviously decided to go elsewhere.

Isabella was doing some painting with Ursula when I got back so we had a cup of tea before I went back with Isabella to answer a couple of emails and get a shower. I’d managed to encourage the boiler to heat the water earlier and the intermittent sunshine had kept it warm so I enjoyed a lovely, hot shower!

I took in my washing before taking the dogs out for the Evening Walk where we met JoJo and Mary who were walking their dog and baby. They reminded me of the arrival of the Tuesday parcel which I must watch out for tomorrow. I relayed the post office information should they have wanted to go there.

Skinny is very chatty as he’s stuck outside on the decking having wound his line around one of the decking supports. He requires me to unravel him before he can get inside.

News from Kirsti and Jorma to inform me they have now moved to the port at Agios Nikolaos. They tell me they will stay for a few days. They are working their way around to Koutsounari which Peter has just left. Perhaps they will bump into each other.

I must put my peas on and let Skinny in so I can have some peace from his pathetic whining! Skinny is the master of whining and strange noises.
