The boiler is fixed…?

A warmer but cloudier morning greeted us on the Promontory. The dogs picked up some scent or other so the first lap with Skinny was exciting and very quick. There was some general excitement so I didn’t let them off the lead just walked them around a final time. I saw Mars and Jupiter but it clouded over and the sunlight put paid to anything else.

I’d not intended to go to Krios as the sky was heavy with clouds and it looked like it might even rain although none was forecast. I changed course from a direct route to the bakery to take in Krios and then return to purchase the final pastry of Tony and Ursula’s stay. They are staying over nearer to the airport tonight due to an early flight and potential difficulties on the roads due to a landslip.

I entertained myself with IT duties and other administrative tasks. The guys came to work on the boiler so I opened the door for them. I discovered later that it was now working. Long may that situation continue.

Ursula brought some items up to the storeroom then took Isabella for a walk on the Promontory. Isabella did well today as we went out this evening too. They then loaded their car and headed off. I was involved with a German lady who wishes to stay in the camping for three weeks whilst her husband returns to Germany. They are pretty intrepid travellers and often go on long desert treks in their huge Mercedes-powered truck with a big box on top. They have everything including winches, a crane, sand mats, you name it. They can carry 300l of water and something like 600l of diesel. They need it as the six-litre Mercedes engine consumes 25 litres for 100km!. She and her little dog plan to stay down next to the bar where they can see the sea. They don’t normally go to campings.

I went for a shower then took out the dogs for their Evening Walk. It was uneventful so they enjoyed themselves chasing about on the beach and over the rocks. I had the same number of dogs on the way back. The two other motorhomes which arrived yesterday and spent the night in the car park had left by the evening so I should not be surprised to find them down at Krios or near the port in Paleochora.

The Pot has gone ‘plop’ so my reheated Thai Green Curry from yesterday is awaiting me. Thanks once again, Ursula! It was lovely last night and sure to be the same tonight.
