New collar

I arose unenthusiastically as I was fast asleep when the alarm sounded so it took a few minutes to get my brain into gear. It was a little windy outside and there had been some rain which manifested itself by patterns on the sand and a small puddle on the tabletop lying across the roofs of a couple of dog houses.

We set off towards the Promontory passing a lone car parked unobtrusively on Alonáki Beach. Having made various stops for important deposits, we continued up the Promontory at a good speed. It was only once we were almost on top of them did I see the two dome tents at the entrance to the sandy section at the end of the Promontory. We passed almost silently and disappeared into the night to continue back down the other side and onto the beach. Once past the car, I released Isabella, Luis and Charlie. The walk down the beach was very pleasant in the early dawn light with the waves washing up to my right.

We were heading back with Luis in front of us but no sign of Charlie. Luis disappeared ahead as we crossed the field and there was Charlie waiting patiently at the field gate. Too easy I thought until he rushed towards us and disappeared with Isabella. No sign of Luis so I put Fido, Oskar and Obi inside and fed the cats. Charlie didn’t appear but Isabella was sitting with Skinny who was attached to the fence.

We set off up the field in search of Luis but found Charlie so he and Isabella went off together again. It was great to see them vigorously playing together. I turned back with Skinny to search for Luis inside the camping. I found him just on the other side of the fence mooching around. I put him in the van with the others and set off yet again. Charlie was on the beach and ran up to join us as we headed east. It was then that Isabella spotted some sheep and decided, for the first time ever, that they needed rounding up. The sheep went in all directions and Isabella tried to go after them. She was completely engaged in the sheep so nothing I was going to do would make a difference. She came back chasing one sheep which she cornered by one of the greenhouses. I went to rescue the sheep from the barking Isabella. Isabella must have been in no doubt about how I felt and she and Charlie were put on the lead with Skinny. It was around 06:30 so maybe no one saw this outrageous event.

We went, yet again, back to the camping where I depositing Charlie and we then went onto the Promontory as there was little time left for an extended walk. We did a circuit past the dome tents and over the rocks, then back to the camping.

I went into Paleochora for some shopping and a visit to the hardware store for a replacement collar for Isabella. She has outgrown her one so now has one she can grow into. There was a westerly wind so I engaged some additional power on the way back.

I let out the dogs and made breakfast then sat down with my computer. Isabella and I need to have a conversation about sheep so we’re going to be doing a little training for the next few days.

After breakfast I got on with a task on one of Inter Sport’s servers which has been bugging me for some while . I don’t seem to be able to sort it out so may leave it for a little while. I find this often helps.

Noises off indicated the arrival of customers with young children. There was a little doggy interest but otherwise they’ve been fairly well behaved. I had a couple of other IT support tasks to keep me busy during the day. I made the Doggy Dinners and managed to get them cooler quite quickly. I had a long support call so they didn’t get to eat the dinners until later.

There a blackbird singing joyfully in one of the nearby carob trees. The kids have stopped kicking the ball around and I need to put the last of the spinach in with the lentils or it will be dark before I get to eat my food.
