It must be cooler

Another delightful original Perry Mason complete with 1950’s fire truck just like the one I had as a toy. Multiple murders – all very complicated but he got his woman. It was a lot cooler at bedtime so I even considered digging out a blanket!

I beat the alarm but didn’t actually get out of bed immediately. The Early Walks were par for the course and included the final return to the Promontory and trot over the rocks.

Janne and Erica were packing up when we returned so I received my final instructions regarding plants, cats etc. They were leaving before 09:00 to avoid the road closure and their flight was somewhere around 14:00 taking in Copenhagen as a stopover. They were delighted!

I went for a swim and was in for around thirty minutes. The water is cooler in the mornings so I was glad of a long, hot shower after.

I fed cats, dogs and myself then set about getting all the paperwork in order for Georgia. With COVID it’s important to record contact details in case of an outbreak. I’m developing systems to deal with this so have been working on an additional spreadsheet which consolidates address details and phone numbers.

I lost a part of the morning so it was soon time to welcome the group who are in T1-3 and M6. They were here a couple of weekends when it was very busy. It’s far less busy now as we have only three other customers.

Georgia arrived so I gave her the money and paper forms. She tells me she has to prove how many people have stayed in the camping as the water meter replaced two years ago has registered no consumption. She is surrounded by receipt books manually writing out page after page… To add to her woes, the local electricity company cannot, for some reason, give her a bill yet head office in Athens is threatening legal action. She explained there was sufficient business during the summer to pay the bills and leave her with enough money to get through the winter. She says that many other businesses didn’t open and so are in a very different position.

She is down at her mother’s for the weekend and some friends will be staying over in Z1-2 on Saturday night as they are going to be fishing from the beach or the Promontory.

It has been windy today and I had considered swimming in the afternoon but chickened out due to the wind. As well as snoozing and fooling with spreadsheets I managed to make some Doggy Dinners.

I notice there are more dogs inside the van: it must be cooler as Charlie, who prefers to sleep in the disused dog houses, joined us last night.

I have some spinach and will do interesting things with salad tonight.
