One more day

I needed to send Luis out for growling at Oskar and refusing to stop. He was ejected less vigorously than the last time but still made to wear a collar. Fido joined him later as I didn’t wait around for him to come back from his wee. He and Luis probably snuggled up together on the blanket under my chair where they tend to spend quite a bit of time anyway.

Having made sure I was awake at getting up time, Isabella let herself out via the partially-opened door and was soon joined by Skinny. They wandered around outside whilst I struggled into my clothes.

We were off and across the field in good time and made a speedy tour of the Promontory before heading up towards Plakaki where we turned round and came back to do it all over again. I was able to get into town and do some grocery shopping before meeting Achim for his final Grammeno wash as they are leaving tomorrow.

The day had started very cloudy and I thought perhaps it might rain as I rode into Paleochora to Petrakis. As time went by, the clouds disappeared and it was sunny and reasonably warm.

The sun convinced Alma to also put in a load of washing so I was back to the washing machine again.

This was between installing and setting up the software for a new printer at Inter Sport in Lewes. I mentioned the previous one was jamming due to labels leaving glue on the printer’s internal drum and rollers. Whenever a new printer is installed, I have to go to each computer to uninstall the old model and then install the new one. Fortunately, the job gets easier each time I have to do it as the installer and software get better.

My other support call of the day was Andrea installing email on Lola’s new phone. Andrea is not a computer person so it can be a challenge to get things done. We got there in the end though.

Achim came to pay so we walked to the office to collect his ID and for him to cross my palm with filthy fiat currency which I keep in the van anyway as the office is not really a secure location. They will leave sometime tomorrow to seek their fortune.

It was getting dark as we went for the Evening Walk. People were still clustered around one of the beach tables opposite the field so I herded the dogs out over the gap in the fence nearer the promontory. There were three cars parked in the beach car park however we didn’t meet anyone as we conducted our rapid tour of the Promontory. We went over the rocks and crossed the causeway with dry feet however we didn’t linger in the same way as yesterday.

The temperature made it to 21.2℃ and wasn’t so chilly in the night. Tomorrow is the last day of 2020 so the end of the Brexit transition period.
