Winter’s here!

It started to rain as I’d just got out of bed Isabella was licking my feet and Skinny wanted me to scratch his ears. I didn’t hurry so spent a few minutes checking my emails and reading the news. It stopped as quickly as it had started so we were off out with a minimum of delay.

It was still dark so I could see water droplets in the torchlight. There was a strong chilly wind which also concentrated the mind. I was glad of that extra layer and sorry not to have brought my hat.

As it became lighter, I could see the sky darkening and some raindrops beginning to fall. I broke into a run to try to get to the cave before I got too wet. The dogs, unsurprisingly, were ahead of me. I sheltered in the cave for a few moments however the heavier rain gave way to a gently drizzle which accompanied us for the remainder of the walk.

Having examined the sky, I decided we’d be better off sticking to the Promontory rather than walk too far from home. We did a few laps until I could actually see the rain falling in the distance. A little more running meant we were back before it rained properly.

The day has otherwise been relatively sunny with enough to almost charge the batteries after a rather dull day yesterday. When the sun was shining, it was really pleasantly warm but otherwise, the wind made it very cold.

I occupied myself trying to figure out why my new Raspberry Pi is not booting up. This has involved Web research and trying a number of suggestions from others with similar problems. It looks as though there may be a fault as I’ve come upon a dead end. I’ve posted on the Raspberry Pi forum but it may be a while before anyone answers assuming they have anything useful to say.

Georgia brought Martha, her mother, to visit Grammeno. Martha’s doing well considering the seriousness of her stroke which was not that long ago. Georgia tells me that Martha is mellowing a little as time goes by but still sharp. We discussed the problem with getting punters to the site due to lockdown. Several have said they are coming but don’t make it for one reason or another. I understand there are a few booking for the summer but nothing like the usual amount of enquiries so far. December brings plenty of emails but not this year.

Georgia dropped off some supplies for Tony for the cats and dogs then they took off to go look at Georgia’s boat which needs to come out of the water for winter maintenance. It’s usually parked in the camping before now.

I went back to the dogs and tried some of the bread I’d baked today. A little like a brick but very filling!

Chilly and windy with rain and thunder!
