Plenty of wind but also stars too as it wasn’t so cloudy for the Early Walk. Luis managed quite well and even went onto the rocks. I think he’s getting better. Other than Obi going missing for a few minutes, the walk was uneventful but enjoyable.
I went up Panorama to the top but the wind was so strong that I had to get off and push at one point. I won’t be sorry when the wind stops blowing in the morning.
Luis was up for some food when I got back to the camping. He had a little last night but this morning he came over when I was dispensing it so I served him first as I suspected it might take him longer to eat it. He’s still a little stiff in the leg but managing to get about better.
Kirsti had two loads of washing today with the second lot mostly sheets and towels. The machine has probably been overloaded during the summer as it had gone for a walk from its usual position so one foot wan’t touching the ground. This made for a longer wash cycle as the load had to be frequently adjusted. After the washes I pushed the machine back into its usual position and adjusted the feet so that all four were on the ground together.
Ingo said he’d not had a good night and had been suffering from a little sinus trouble before coming to Crete. He said they’d tried to evict all the cats from their tent at bedtime but settled for a compromise by leaving them to sleep under the fly sheet. Kalliope and I were wandering the camping so that she could count all of the cats, see where they were fed and how they managed to get under the decking at the bar. We had a conversation about how kittens from the same litter can be so different so now she has an understanding of multiple parents in cats and dogs.
Earlier, we sat by the kitchen whilst I ate the onion which had been liberally included in the takeaway salad which Ingo had purchased at Houmas earlier. I think they plan to go to eat in Paleochora this evening.
I had a couple of support requests to deal with and there was a new customer who’d visited the camping a couple of years before. He says he’s going to tour around the island for a bit then possibly return for a longer stay.
I opened up the cupboard where I stored everything in vacuum bags to discover that the mouse had diligently managed to nibble each of the bags allowing the air back in. Only one shirt had been nibbled from what I could see and much of the stuff in the bags needed reorganising anyway. Fortunately, I had a stash of spare bags so sorted out the summer/winter gear and put everything for storage in fresh bags. I shall need a duvet before long so have removed that too. I took the opportunity for a little light cleaning whilst I was at it.
The day has been surprisingly warm and sunny so 7.2kWh of electricity was produced despite the intermittency of the sun. Kirsti got all of her washing dried and I nearly went for a shower but got distracted with sorting and repacking clothes into new vacuum bags. The water should be very warm so I’ll get a shower at bedtime.
