Inside Job

Definite reluctance to getting up this morning. The duvet just wouldn’t let go. If I’d been more prompt we might have missed the dampness which occurred near the end of the walk. Only minor dampness anyway.

The walk started in moonlight but the clouds soon put paid to that. It was full moon so we will have lighter mornings assuming the clouds will clear at least on some days. The river was still too wide/deep/fast to cross although Skinny, Obi and Isabella galloped off into the distance. Skinny to the end of the beach at Plakaki. I could see his flashing collar in the distance.

We walked back down to the end of the Promontory under slight drizzle. We didn’t hang around as it was looking more serious from the clouds stacking over the mountains.

I dried the dogs and put them inside, fed the cats then took Charlie and Isabella out again as the weather had decided to behave. I had time to meditate and Elevate before rushing off on my bike for a splashy ride over Panorama and round Paleochora and back. Any desire to go further up the mountain had evaporated. My return was brisk as I could see more rain on the way.

I went down to check a couple of things and dropped Florian a bottle of gas. It would seem we have similar viewpoints on environmental matters. He told me about an electric Smart he’d driven. More rain came so we went our separate ways.

I fed the dogs and got something for myself. There were some brief periods of sunshine but it was generally cold and overcast. Bona contacted me to ask about the state of the loos and said she’d come to clean them tomorrow.

Other than being generally cold and uninspiring, the day was also uneventful. I progressed the installation of the Mac Mini so that’s coming along. The graphics are good on the Mac and VLC is much more responsive. I’ve yet to see what the sound is like. It’s not been warm enough for sitting outside for long periods so being inside with the fan heater seemed a more comfortable arrangement. Strangely, there were a few dogs scattered around inside too.

The cats had a false alarm when I went to take the gas bottle back to the ladies but I fed them when I walked up again a little later. The dogs will be next as I expect their Doggy Rice has cooked by now. I’m not looking forward to going outside.

An excavator has been busy on the site for the second day. He will have been kept warm from the heat of the engine. I can still hear him working outside.
