Spring!

I wanted to get out as I knew there would be a lot to do so wanted to get back as soon as possible. I got to test out the new transmitter very early on in the walk. Obi is incapable of disguising his enthusiasm if there’s a chase of any kind. There were flashing lights in all directions so I could see something was going on. I deftly withdrew my weapon and with a few button-presses I had control of six dogs. Fido just followed the others.

Our walk was uneventful, under a clear sky where the moon shone brightly and Venus tracked our progress. Dawn arrived early as there were no clouds so I could see the dogs on the way back from visiting the river.

I managed to feed the cats and Elevate my brain before taking Isabella out once more. Sadly, I’m out of Balance today as I’ve not been able to make time for it. I find if I stick to my morning routine, everything gets done.

I received a call from a Swiss number which turned out to be connected with the other group. There was no decision as to the accommodation until they arrived so I hastily cleaned out the bathrooms connected to M4/5. Another phone call and a Greek family said they’d be coming. Easy as they are regular visitors so needed the minimum of input from me.

Georgia turned up to finalise the positioning of the new static vans which it has been deemed will not being going into the area which Michaelis and Tony started to prepare. I got dragged into the conversations and suggested replacing T1 and putting it elsewhere as it’s smaller. There were a number of crackpot locations and I was wondering how it might go down if I said they could use my space. This is the reality behind the proposal to offer me the house at the top.

I eventually went back to the dogs and fell asleep in the sun until it disappeared behind the trees. I prepared the food for myself and the dogs then wandered around to check the punters were ok as I knew they needed to inflate some airbeds. I ended up having a nice chat with one of the wives who is planning to turn to veganism. She appeared genuinely interested and had already done some homework. Her husband had been in the sea for forty-five minutes spear fishing! A braver man than I. We discussed Diego Garcia as I inflated the airbeds with the compressor. He mentioned US Navy colleagues who’d been there and would return at a moment’s notice. I related the history of the atoll chain and the appalling way the population were evicted.

Janne and Erica have not yet arrived so I have not been able to discuss one of the crackpot schemes which involves shaving 2m off their area. I think it would be much easier for Georgia if we were both out of the way. A conclusion I reached and discussed with Maria a couple of years back. The land we occupy was of little value at the time it was allocated but now things are different. Maria assured me that my conclusion was erroneous.

A truly wonderful day!
