Tennis Balls

My brain is confused due to the hour change so I was awake long before the alarm went off. We were out a little earlier than recently since sunrise is around a minute sooner each day so we can start the day a little earlier each week.

I had my coat undone much of the time as it was a mild but cloudy morning with little wind and definitely no stars or moon. Our walk was unremarkable but pleasant and I managed to return with the same number of dogs. I was out again with Isabella later and today she had plenty of exercise without losing the balls. I chucked her ball into the lagoon so she had plenty of swimming and paddling about. At one point she had both balls so had trouble deciding which to bring back to me. Eventually, I took control of one ball and she retrieved the other. She was quite tired when we got back to the others around 09:30.

I’ve been looking for a supply of tennis balls as we lose some and others simply disintegrate although Boris destroyed tennis balls more quickly than Isabella. Cheap new balls tend not to last very long and are comparatively expensive. I finally found a company in The Netherlands which takes used balls from schools and tennis clubs and distributes them for second use for dogs or projects. I’ve ordered 96 used tennis balls which should keep us going for a little while. At under 0.40€ including shipping they are great value.

In contrast to yesterday, today has been cloudier and cooler. There has been less inside sleeping accommodation as some horrible animal left some nasty sickyness over the rear bench seat. I washed the cover and piled the backs and cushions on one other side leaving a choice of wood or one, smaller seat to lie on. The inside is back to normal now as the seat cover didn’t take very long to dry. All of the covers are falling apart so I need to think about some alternative arrangement.

Tony has been strimming and Michaelis and Nikos continuing with the static van deckings. Bona came in, cleaned the bathrooms and did some washing. She has yet to clean Z5-6. I understand from Tony that Dimitris will be arriving to do some raking in a day or two.

I’m not quite sure where much of the day has gone but I put it down to the hour change. I can hear a machine working nearby but am not quite sure where it is although the sound is coming from Ammos Beach Bar area. Something with tracks as I can hear the squealing and grinding.

The wind is from the northeast and has freshened as the day progressed making today a lot cooler than yesterday. The sun is trying to break through but it’s relatively late so will have little impact. Tomorrow promises to be sunnier and probably a little warmer. Despite the lack of sunlight, the battery is full even though I was baking banana bread yesterday late afternoon.

Mostly overcast but mild with increasing wind during the afternoon
Cloudy and dull at 18:30
