RIP Fluffy Pussy

I went out with six dogs for the initial walk although Sascha was hanging on the wire wanting to come but I felt it might be a little far and I wasn’t sure how the others would respond. The walk went according to plan and we were back in good time for me to feed cats, exercise my brain, walk the two females and go for a bike ride over Panorama at a sensible time. There was no need for shopping as I still had my extensive doggy bags from the weekend celebrations.

I found a dead cat on the road opposite the camping which turned out to be the Fluffy Pussy, the mother of the three kittens born in June 2019 of which two survive. She was born in the camping during the summer of 2018.

She was born in the camping during the summer of 2018 if I recall correctly.

Several customers were leaving, some early to catch the ferry for Gavdos albeit with a change of vessel at some point. Having collected money and seen off the punters, the camping looked quite empty. Christian, the Swiss guy moved into one of the recently liberated spaces so he wasn’t blocking access to the bar with his awning. Work was beginning at the bar and the work to the new tank was continuing following the Easter Break. Only three vans remained at that point so I was lined up for a lazy day.

The day was quite lazy for most of the time. I sat and did little after the excitement of the weekend. It was warm so the dogs spent most of the time asleep and it’s possible I may even have drifted off at some point.

The ACS courier arrived with a large box containing my new computer monitor. I lugged it down the camping and unpacked it so am able to confirm that it is indeed a large screen. I think it will be high quality and I’m not bothered that it uses a lot of electricity as I have plenty. I’m still waiting for the wall mount to arrive as the one I have is not of the correct size and cannot support the weight of such a heavy monitor.

I knew there was one arrival for Z6 and received a call from Maria that they were in the camping. I was also expecting the Swiss family back for one night after their Gavdos experience. They would be later as they were landing in Sougia so would have to drive from there.

I put in some washing for the German lady who also speaks Greek but not English. Then I put in a load of my own in the machine, sorted through my clothes and left a selection by the garbage bins for anyone to sort through. I actually threw things away! I’ve put the bulk of my winter clothes away so now it’s likely to snow!

My next arrival was a German family in a camper van who are now in my initial space. A Swiss family arrived and are parked next the the Germans. Then there was another call to say a Greek couple would appear to stay one night before a trip to Gavdos.

The Greek couple arrived so I put them in Z1 as they planned to leave early. I mentioned the washing machine, not thinking for a moment they’d want to use it which then did. I put a quick wash on so they could leave their clothes to dry overnight. We had a good chat later and they told me they like to speak English which they’ve picked up from watching films on TV. They often speak to each other in English.

The final Swiss family arrived and stayed next to the restaurant kitchen opposite the location of their earlier stay. They were going the following morning to catch the ferry from Iraklion to return to Switzerland ready to return to work/school the follow Monday.

By the time I’d done all of this it was dark, the dogs were yet to be fed and I’d prepared nothing for myself. Luckily, I had my doggy bags so was able to quickly put something together and then went to bed. I didn’t take long to go to sleep.

Another warm, still day with plenty of sunshine.
