Master Key!

Sasha was demolishing something outside and I thought it might have been the plastic container I use for the DDs so I got up to investigate. She was demolishing something but not the container so instead of going back to bed, I decided to get up.

Having readied the dogs, except for Obi who wasn’t present, I discovered that the field gate had been left open since our walk the previous day.… Read the rest

Hope Yet?

Luis wanted to go out but had to shove Isabella out of the way to do so. I had to get up to open the gate but he was very quickly back in unlike his wretched brother who seems to take forever. Wakeup time soon arrived so we were soon on our way.

There had be strains of music floating around during the night and there are often young people who come in their cars to the beach or car park to chill out and listen to music.… Read the rest

I drank tea before bed so there were a couple of extra Stand Hours during the night. We were out into a warmer morning with the sea gently lapping the shore and a good crop of Sunday night fast food containers in the waste bins. I picked up the packets as Isabella chased the cast couple of chips.… Read the rest

Scraps

Sunday morning arrived almost quietly with a small child having a meltdown around five. I was awake anyway. It looks like a family is in one of the large rental tents upstream of me and they are here for a little while. From whence came the bawling child I suspect.

Our doggy walk was enjoyable and mostly uneventful.… Read the rest

Office 2019

At around ten forty-five I wanted to go to sleep so sent a message to Bona to that effect. I suggested they might have Maya back the next day. I went to bed but, despite all of the earlier activity, Sasha and Maya still had plenty of energy so I banished them to the SDC where they could do little harm.… Read the rest

Following dire warnings of flood and pestilence, there were a few raindrops, some distant thunderclaps and that was it!

We woke, quite early, to a fine but cool morning definitely deserving of a t-shirt full time. Our walks were uneventful but enjoyable, the second being extended back to Plakaki with the Serbian woman and her setter.… Read the rest

I don’t think I bled on my clean sheet but it was really only a graze. The most annoying thing I discovered once on my feet was that my big toe was hurting as the result of contact with the tarmac yesterday.

We left but progress was limited due to my poor sore toe. After a while, I was too bound up in my thoughts to worry anymore about it so it might have quickened a little.… Read the rest

POS

I awoke to a forgotten sound, that of raindrops falling on the metal roof above the van. Initially, the rain easily persuaded me to stay in bed even though it wasn’t very hard. When it became lighter, then stopped altogether I had no cause to dawdle.

It was coming up to six when we crossed into the field which greeted us with a new experience of moisture and freshly watered plants.… Read the rest

A Change in the Weather

I’d forgotten to charge my watch; it was on the cradle all night so I was awakened by my phone which required looking at to get it to stop. All this hi-tech activity first thing in the morning!

It was a lot cooler so I was half-wearing my T-shirt over my back and shoulders. There were no cars in the car park nor tents on The Promontory.… Read the rest

Up with the lark and before the alarm, just, and we were out and running by five-fifteen or near offer. Still a couple of cars in the beach car park and only one tent on The Promontory. St Christophe(r)

The night was sweaty even though the fan was running from bedtime. We went out to an almost empty beach but there were a few cars in the car park. We later found a couple of tents scattered about the Promontory but no signs of real life as we know it. There were no excitements so the boys were back in the van just after seven.… Read the rest

Calm and still with just one tent lurking at the southern end of the Big Beach. It seemed quite warm on an airless morning. Even Venus appeared to be having problems getting over the mountain and the moon was doing its best for its size.

I noted some activity around one of the waste bins by the loungers on Alonaki Beach.… Read the rest

Crazy Day

I was nicely asleep in my boudoir when suddenly awakened due to barking dogs. Namely, Fido and Luis. Luis is happy to join in with anyone and Fido was barking due to a firework display which included plenty of bangs. Luckily, Fido doesn’t live in Ukraine or he’d never stop barking. Other dogs were barking around the camping but the display ended reasonably quickly so that we could all go back to sleep.… Read the rest

There was no more sound from my local radio station so I reckon they went out and came back late. I didn’t hear another squeak all night. Only some gentle snoring which I’m quite used to.

I turned off the alarm before it went off so we were out in good time without hopefully waking the entire camping.… Read the rest

It was late when I went to bed, for me at least. The neighbours were already quiet so I was creeping around trying not to make a racket. Only a week or so more and there should be fewer tent rentals hopefully so no one next to the North Wall. One of the advantages of the tent rentals is that others won’t come down here because of them.… Read the rest

Francesco’s Little Adventure

Morning arrived clear and bright with plenty of moonlight but cooler too. Most of the cars had gone although a van and a pickup were near to the entrance of the Promontory. I slightly changed our normal route in and out to compensate for this. Only Fido, Isabella and Skinny made it to the end of the Promontory so we quickly crossed the rocks to try to chase up the rest.… Read the rest

The Holiday!

Fido needed to stretch his legs during the night so I was hanging around at three waiting for him to return. I beat the alarm again and so we were on the way quite quickly to enjoy the moonlit seascape and the silence of the sea.… Read the rest

An Idle Day

The night passed quickly with few interruptions. I was awake before the alarm so had feet on the floor when it went off. We were out the gate soon after into a moonlit field. It was still as we hastened up the Promontory towards the rocks, not a breath of air. Friday began just after five as I was slightly ahead of the alarm. I woke up warm in the night despite the fan but felt a little cooler later. Having a fan in ones bedchamber is a bit of an advantage.

I went to bed quite early so was awake correspondingly early as well, so I decided to get up and take out the dogs. Part of that decision was made by the dogs who were all up for it. I think we were out of the gate around four-thirty in the end.

My entertainment was a continuation of a series on the Indian railways based around Mumbai. This episode, the reporters are going on a long-distance trip and seeing how the station handles the trains when they arrive back. India is a sizeable country so the trains cover quite a few km.
