Calm and still with just one tent lurking at the southern end of the Big Beach. It seemed quite warm on an airless morning. Even Venus appeared to be having problems getting over the mountain and the moon was doing its best for its size.

I noted some activity around one of the waste bins by the loungers on Alonaki Beach. First thing, it’s not so easy to judge distance when there is a number of flashing lights in one location. Walking back from Plakaki I discovered a load of take-out containers and beer cans strewn over the ground surrounding the bin. I suspect the culprits were of the doggy variety and not Friday night revellers. It only took a minute to clear up and I deposited everything into one of the nearby wheelie bins.

There was no sign of activity as we passed the tent on the Big Beach on our way back to the rocks. It was pleasant standing on the rocks as I doled out biscuits to the entire contingent. We walked back to the camping and then I set off with the two females and the ball-thrower. There wasn’t much call for throwing but we managed to return with the ball.

I set off for the mountain and Petrakis after a brief interlude. Francesco said they’d be leaving around 10:00 so, mindful of that, I got my DD shopping done quite quickly. It was only veg anyway. I also got to the bottom of how the dog food managed to get delivered so quickly during the Holiday Weekend. Apparently, the delivery driver was hanging around at the back of the store and was spotted by the Canadian check-out lady. She gave him the paperwork and got him to take a bag from the store and drop it off to the camping as he passed. How’s that for service!

I was accosted by Maria as I rode past the reception but she was busy so I went to see how Francesco was getting on packing up their belongings and loading their VW camper. I immediately recognised that a 10:00 departure was unattainable so went back to the office to see what Maria wanted. As the Grammeno printer has no original toner, the printer refuses to print. Consequently, Maria had asked the guy at Hotel Megim to print some of the customer forms on their printer. My task was to go back to Megim and pick them up as Maria had run out of forms the previous evening. Don’t let’s ask the question about paper forms and spreadsheets. I jumped on my bike and rode back to pick up the forms. I went back to see the Italians who were still a long way from being ready. I knew Maria would need to ask about their electricity and I agreed with Francesco that he’s let me know when he was ready to go.

I drank some tea and Maria called about the electricity so I went back to say goodbye. They’d managed to get everything in the van including the children which was a bonus. Francesca said she’d be happy to remain if surrounded by dogs and cats as she likes the camping. They left, some Germans arrived and moved into Bay 3. I’d already arranged with a French couple that I’d let them know when the Italians left so they could move in to Bay 2. The problem was that the roof of their van was too high for the shading over. We had the cunning idea of swapping with the Germans however their van is 3.1m and the shading is 3.0m so the French abandoned the idea and went back to were they were in the Kirsti and Jorma space near me.

The remainder of the afternoon was spent messing around with DDs and supplier invoices as I’d not been keeping up recently. When it got to tea time I went to the kitchen where I was given a vat of Big Beans to which I added potatoes from the night before. Yummy!

It’s a nuisance not having the laundry camera as I can’t see if the boiler has stopped working. Waiting until the water is cold and the customers complain is not really the way. I’ve programmed the bar andcameras so that Georgia can access them directly via the app on her phone. Not all of the cameras are exactly the same to there have to be some password differences for the older software. It’s been a busy day!

It didn’t seem that warm today but it was only a little short of 40ºC so we’re catching up with the UK! Little wind and hot sums it up.
