Black Friday

Sasha was fidgeting around 04:00 and had already been out with Fido at 01:00. At least they were quick. After a brief check of the weather, we were on our way past the van in the car park which has been present the past two mornings.

Obi was adrift at the first stop but we crossed the Causeway without problem then on the way to Plakaki. I was summoning Obi as we walked as I didn’t want him drifting into the camping and making the dogs bark. He finally appeared as we stopped before the second visit to the Promontory. Luis also arrived once he’d caught up at the top of the Promontory.

I took out the girls, we crossed the rocks and I waited for the sunrise as I did some gentle stretching exercises looking out to sea. The sunrise finally happened around 07:12.

I went straight off towards Paleochora to buy bread and visit Petrakis as it’s been a few days. I was soon heading back admiring the sea from the cycleway.

Jorma took Luis for a walk, I unpacked the groceries and sat for a while. Luis was posted back through the gate and I let out the others and fed them.

I had some beetroot to cook which I put in the pot and made tea before resuming a sitting position once more. A little time passed me by and then I got on with producing my drawings before riding to Anatoli in Kountoura to pick up the casters ordered only last Thursday. They look the part and should be able to carry the weight if not abused. There are two wheels per caster so they should be ok as the batteries are unlikely to travel very far.

Jorma and Kirsti took Luis and Isabella out for a walk so I went in the opposite direction with Sasha on the prong collar so she learns how to walk nicely on the lead. She’s been able to run with the others since the outset so needs to learn to walk on a lead too. Maya also needs some lead training although I didn’t have the same problems as when they brought her for her sleepover. I think Maya knows who the boss is.

A German married to a Lithuanian arrived so are now parallel with the beach. Soon after, Olivia called to say there was another customer which turned out to be the Czech couple who’ve visited for the past few years. They are behind the restaurant kitchen.

The day has been mostly sunny and warm with a little breeze but not cold although the wind had a little bite.

Today is Black Friday so we are being barraged by the usual plethora of unmissable deals. In fact, Rad Power Bikes has an excellent off on the Rad Rhino as it’s even cheaper than when I bought it almost three years ago. It now has hydraulic brakes as standard. At 1,200€ it’s a steal!

Mostly warm and sunny with a little wind at times.
