Warmer!

The battery reached it’s lower set limit so switched over, rather abruptly, to Grid for the rest of the evening. I think I need to have the inverter take care of that changeover and not the BMS as it should be seamless.

The troops were ready to go today and I even woke up feeling too warm during the night! We were out just after five-thirty on a moonlit morning with little cloud so plenty of light. Indeed, I used my torch to cross the rocks and then dropped it into a bush but I managed to retrieve it later. I could have done with it to cross the river on the way to Plakaki as it was running well and had been significantly wider. Some kind soul had put large stones into the water to provide assistance to cross. It was easier on the return as it was starting to get light. I was held up collecting up Isabella, Sasha, Obi and Oskar who’d gone on a little diversion into one of the gardens. I persuaded them to return to me.

The BB was the only vehicle in the Beach car park. The green thing from yesterday was parked in the limestone quarry on the south side of the road as I discovered when I rode into Paleochora.

I took the girls out for a fairly speedy additional trip around the Promontory as there was a tower of stacking cloud on the other side of the mountains to the north. There was just a little light rain blown towards us by the following wind.

My ride into Paleochora was reasonable but against the wind so quite chilly even though I was well wrapped up. I bought bread and groceries as it’s DDs day today. The return ride was warmer as the wind had moderated and the stacking clouds had dissolved.

I fed the animals and started to make the DDs. There was another poor connection between the solar panels (PV) and the inverter which resulted in intermittent charging of the quite flat battery. I checked the connections and tightened them. I plan to give the inverter a strip down and clean when it’s relocated from the side of the van to the new battery cart. I’m informed the new awning sides have now left Graz.

I put a wash in for Mickey and eventually drank my tea whilst sitting in the sun outside. Today has been the first day when it’s been possible to sit outside in reasonable comfort. Not quite the same now as it’s cloudy and the wind is stronger.

The DDs have been processed so the dogs are inside with me waiting patiently for their rice to finish cooking. Which will be soon.

The forecast is for a warmer, sunnier day tomorrow so we should have a full batter charge and plenty of hot water given a good day’s sunshine.

A few degrees warmer after a cool start. Plenty of sunshine and little wind in the middle of the day. Some 9.5 kWh of electricity of which nearly 7kWh made it to the battery. With sunshine forecast tomorrow and the following days, we can go crazy with the heater this evening.
