All Go!

I had a very useful reply from the nice man at the welder distribution company providing me with the user manual in English. He wrote good English and appeared genuinely interested. He also told me the spare parts are easy to find.

We all went on a longer walk which included two trips to Plakaki with a visit to the rocks there. It was light on the second trip so the dogs stayed closer to me as I walked along the water margin. The man whose garden is often invaded was walking his dog on the beach as we arrived at Plakaki. I called mine to me but the guy and his dog retreated into the safety of his garden. We visited the Plakaki rocks and then walked back to the other rocks before returning to the camping.

I fed the pussies then sat down for some quiet meditation. It wasn’t as quiet as I’d hoped as I’d left it a little late. Toni called me and there were texts from customers. I went to put on a wash, wandered the camping and then fed the dogs.

The English couple left around midday so I was able to have a chat and then go into Paleochora. I’d already taken a Dutch couple around the camping and shown some of the smaller cabins to others. They were the yellow van parked on Alonaki Beach the other morning. They read that dogs are not allowed which is why they didn’t come. I’m not sure where they read that. They plan to come back to stay in winter so we discussed some options.

The plan was to visit Woof and to talk about the Google Business Site. I also wanted some photos from inside the shop including the smiling lady behind the counter. She turned out to be Gabi and says she’s new to the retail business. The shop looks good so I need to upload the photos eventually. I bought some extra cat food as we’re running low. The normal stuff the cats have should be delivered tomorrow or Monday so I hope Janne will pick some up for me. We discussed payment methods as at present, they only take cash. I like to keep track of everything and not carry cash which has a habit of getting lost. Only the bakery gets cash which I get from the washing machine money or shrapnel when customers pay with change.

I visited Petrakis for some items but will go again in the morning as I need ingredients for the DDs on Sunday. There was a headwind as I rode back and a call from a courier delivering my three blocks of coconut coir. We agreed he’d leave them in front of the reception as I wouldn’t be back in time. The first company was hoping I’d go to Souda to collect my delivery! I now have enough coir to last me a long time!

I felt it a good idea to sit down and fall asleep as my morning and afternoon had been busy. Later, I unloaded the shopping and gave Manos the key to T1 where his [girl]friend will be staying later. In return, Manos gave me the beans to finish off as well as some tomatoes and cucumbers. The cucumbers were an interesting shape so didn’t comply to EU cucumber straightness criteria.

It was getting quite windy so I covered my bike in case it rained. The bike cover donated by Sandra around a year ago has finally given up the ghost and disintegrated. I shall get something new come the winter as little will survive the summer heat and sun.

I had a call from Maria who tells me she hopes to start in July. Georgia tells me a ‘friend’ of hers will be the backup person in the office and we believe she will start sometime in May. Past experience tells me not to hold my breath. Hopefully, Georgia will not sack the office staff again this year.

Warmer but becoming Windier as the day progressed making it feel cold. Monday night and Tuesday are still looking rather wet. It’s hard to think it’s April 1 tomorrow.
