Erica told me they’d landed in Athens and their flight was on time. They arrived at Grammeno later in the evening to start their almost one month stay.

The morning was positively warm as I was out with no coat and not even a hat! We went on the extended walk which included some input from the black dog which came out of the garden onto the beach with his owner on his heels. Not without provocation as mine keep wandering into his territory to steal his bones! Nevertheless, I called mine to me leaving the man to reacquire his dog. We proceeded on our way walking almost eight kilometres.

I rode into Paleochora as I needed something to eat later. I stopped first for bread then Petrakis which was quite busy. I was no sooner underway when Bona called to tell me there was a customer at reception. I explained I’d be back in around fifteen minutes. It turned out to be a guy who had stayed at the camping on a previous occasion so had remembered me. I’m not exactly certain as to when exactly he was here before but quite a while ago. As is often the case, his recollection of the event is far superior to mine.

The French couple with the large motorhome and the Smart had told me they’d leave too so I took their money as well. All of this even before I’d got back to the dogs and fed them. My next task was to make some tea. A large chunk of the day had by now passed me by.

I did manage to sit in the sun for a little while and possibly went to sleep. It was soon time to put on the doggy rice and fill up my oil bottles as I was having Fika with the neighbours. By now, the sky had darkened and there were several showers. I left the boys in the van and the girls outside. It was quite a bit later that I got back as it was starting to get dark and the dogs, especially Sasha and Luis, had been protesting at some length that they’d been abandoned. We had consumed quite a bit of tea!

The dogs were duly fed and I made up some food for myself. By this time, there was little left of the evening so I contented myself with a visit to Yorkshire for some 60’s music. The lights dimmed and the computer restarted telling me the battery had run low so had switched over to Grid. The day had been quite cloudy so only a small amount of electricity had been made. I retired to my bed shortly after.

I’d not been in bed very long when I heard some distant thunder and some rain falling. I spent a little while putting together all of the electricity meter readings from the photos since 2015. These, I sent to Erica for reference.

Cooler than the day before but with a warm start which became gradually cloudier ending in rain and thunder after dark.
