Rumble, Rumble…

I got up a little earlier as I was awake. I was quite tired yesterday so went to bed after Lewis and his side-kick had solved yet another Oxford multiple-murder.

The sea was still active and had been busily moving the stones from the Plakaki end to the Grammeno end replacing them with sand. Walking the first part was often complicated due to the banks of stones but much easier on the compacted shingle and sand at Plakaki.

Luis remained with us for the entire walk although he faltered a little at the beginning of the second walk to Plakaki but still managed to arrive. I think he was happy not to be left on his own and may have got the message that wandering the camping is now allowed, for now at least.

I removed the cat food from my bike and rode over Panorama into Paleochora stopping for some bread on the way. Work was going on at the rockfall but we were allowed to pass without waiting.

I received a call from a couple who arrived two days ago telling me they were planning to leave. I went to see them once I’d fed the dogs. The two French women camping near the beach left too, just as the sky clouded over and the first drops of rain began to fall.

I retired back to the dogs covering up my bike as I passed by. Some exciting thunder followed so there was quite a lot of stress mostly on the part of the larger dogs. I got on with sorting out all of the money as April was quite a busy month.

I received a call from a German couple at reception so I donned my waterproof coat to go to meet them and show them the camping. We looked all over but they were happy to take one of the motorhome bays by the entrance road. They plan to stay a couple of nights.

The sky is starting to brighten up but there is still the occasional rumble of distant thunder although the satellite image indicates light cloud and clearer later on. The weather remains unsettled for a couple of days with the possibility of a little more rain tomorrow night.

Warmer than yesterday before the rain and thunder arrived with some quite loud rumbles. Only 3.8mm precipitation so far with the possibility of more rain tomorrow night.
