Keeping on…

A light pattering of rain upon the metal roof around four confirmed the weather forecast was telling the truth. It was the lightest of rainfall so after a little while, we were on our way, just slightly later.

The wind was building so the waves were crashing against Alonáki Beach. There were no motorhomes in the car park just Frank further along the track in his caravan. We were soon on our way to Plakaki where it was already starting to get light so crossing the rocks was simpler. The sea was eagerly crashing against the rocks.

As we approached The Promontory I could see the waves had taken out some of the umbrellas so we went to the rescue dragging them up the beach to safety. The second Plakaki visit brought an Italian couple out for a bracing walk. Isabella seemed crazier than usual and scampered madly around. We followed the couple back towards the Promontory rescuing a large piece of polythene on the way. Then another umbrella before the next circuit of the Promontory. I’d noticed a sea canoe before but this time the owner was getting ready for his breakfast, an Italian with plenty of canoeing experience. He was saying the sea was too rough so he might collect his car and come back for his canoe.

I’d contacted Antonis about the umbrellas and he called Stellios to tell him. Stellios’d not arrived by the time we went back to the camping.

I fed the cats before riding into Paleochora. I’d not gone far when I received a call from Maria in the office telling me a German couple were trying to check out. I stopped and gave her the information so they could pay her. I’d told the couple they needed to check out with me and to give me notice…

After a quick visit to the bakery and then Petrakis I went back to the camping. I stopped at the office where I suggested I might keep on looking after the motorhomes until Maria arrives at the end of June. I felt it better to do this to afford them a gentler start to their tenure. Better than someone throwing a wobbly and leaving as it would all end badly anyway. The office will now look after tents and accommodation with me continuing with the motorhomes. The weekends look quite busy with tents and accommodation.

I suggested to Panagiotis that we might get some gadget charging devices as the summer customers tend to fill every socket with chargers and unplug other people’s equipment. He agreed, having consulted Georgia, so I ordered a couple of twenty-device charging stations. One for the bar and the other probably in the office.

There have been a couple of light showers and it’s still windy. The DDs are ready and their rice should be cooked. I’ve yet to visit the kitchen to see what is in store for me.

Cooler and windier than yesterday with some very light rain showers. The forecast remains variable for a few days.
