Busy Monday

The girls were outside all night so there were occasional disturbances when they charged about. At four, it sounded more like a herd of elephants than two dogs.

The morning was mild and windless so I went out with thinner clothing. I was too hot when the sun was stronger and even rode into Paleochora in just summer shorts, t-shirt and thin fleece.

Frank was the only van to be seen. The others were probably frightened off by the recent wind. The dogs were sampling the delights of the cadaver again so I’ve become more assertive when I see them near it. They are beginning to get the message as now I need only to vibrate their collar and they’re on their way. Skinny removed a chunk of corpse which most of them had a piece of eventually. We didn’t meet anyone and there was nothing to rescue other than some rubbish.

My trip to Paleochora included a visit to Anatoli for some bread and was the only stop. It was a gentle ride back as I studied the rocky outcrops and the rockfall section. There has been no work there for some days however their machine is still high up.

The German couple departed after two nights leaving only Sebastian in his motorhome. They are catching the ferry from Kissamos to Kithera and then back to the mainland via Neapoli (Newtown). They tell me there’s a daily ferry from Neapoli to Kithera. Nothing like that when I went there last although I have been there via Neapoli.

I went to the office to try to sort out the POS machine. After calling the tech support, they decided it needs to be exchanged. I amused myself setting up the camping’s ChromeBook so that the receptionists can see the reception camera. That job took longer than anticipated due to a lost password which required the ChromeBook to be reinstalled. I think they are now happy bunnies for a little while.

There are some lively [British] children staying at CBV. Children are usually allowed only when it’s a single let. They are just lively…

Despite several absences, the doggies managed to remain reasonably quiet. Yesterday, there was huge excitement when the guy I was talking to earlier was exploring the field whilst walking his dog and stumbled upon the doggy enclosure. He retreated amid a sea of barking.

A mild and still day with loads of sunshine. The beginning of June still looks a little unsettled.
