Welcome to June

It rained in the night and again at 04:15. I could still hear it on the roof at 04:30 so cancelled my alarm, set a timer for thirty minutes then went back to sleep. By five, the rain had stopped so I got up and off we went.

There’d been around 1mm precipitation so the sand was wet on the Promontory as we walked out towards the rocks. It was already starting to get light even though we were only thirty minutes later than usual. To try to catch up a little, I cut short the walk after the second Plakaki visit and we went back.

I rode into Paleochora over Panorama and back without any stops. There was water on the roads so perhaps it rained more there.

There was no one to check out so I made tea and sat down to read my mail, exercise my brain and chill out. Later, I remembered that my front brake was getting noisy so brought my bike in to check the pads. As expected, the front pads were very low so I removed the calliper and changed the pads. They were more than a little low and right down to the metal in places. The rear pads still seem ok but they don’t get so much use. I did some other little jobs including finding an Ethernet cable for Frank.

There have been no motorhome arrivals however I noticed some cyclists with tents whilst browsing the movement alarms on the reception camera. Otherwise, I don’t appear to have done very much today.

The hottest day of the year so far with an under awning temperature in excess of 30ºC. I even took my shirt off! The day clouded over in the afternoon and the forecast is still predicting rain in the night and tomorrow morning. Saturday and Sunday are sunny and hot.
