Partly restful

The morning dawned mild, clear and mostly windless. The moon was evident but down to just over one-third. Jupiter is the only visible planet to the east as Mercury, which rises just before the sun, is hidden behind the mountains. At this time of the year, sunrise occurs a while before the sun is actually visible, due to the mountains, however, that will start to revert in about ten days time.

Luis excelled himself by keeping up all the way with just a few little excursions of his own. Obi, who has been known to disappear off, is reasonably predictable. So long as I gather him up from certain locations he will remain with us.

The Slovenians, who were in the camping for a few days, and supposedly touring the island, were parked at the beach overnight. Naturally, they were visited by the dogs who included them amongst every other automotive freeloader. Interestingly, we’ve not seen Frank out and about early in the morning for a while. He must be sleeping better now it’s not so windy.

I exercised my brain and went for a ride to Paleochora to buy bread as well as some ingredients for the DDs. I went wild and bought a very attractive-looking cauliflower and it was only at the checkout I discovered it was over seven Euros! It IS a very good cauliflower and I plan to eat some of it tonight.

I went to install the printer at Wisdom Sports to discover both the tills were turned off making it quite difficult to work. I think Sue must have given them a rocket as they were both on later.

I used the day for catching up on doing nothing which seemed to be working out until I got involved in swapping over the electricity meters as I’d said I would. So now, the bays have the meter to match the bay number which makes life a lot easier for the office staff.

I know that Maria is counting the days until MARIA arrives as she’d much rather be in the kitchen where she has greater control of what’s going on. She tells me she lives in Zakinthos where the winters are wet and wild so she enjoys her wood fire.

Of the two, Marisa is the more serious of the reception staff as she’s certainly more motivated as well as having good customer skills and an excellent command of English. Marisa’s English is far more accurate and extensive that MARIA’s. Her customer skills too. We talked about how, together, we could make a lot of difference.

Toni is back in service as he is no longer ‘positive’ however, I parked one van as I happened to be there at the time. A French couple who, I must say, didn’t endear themselves to me due to their attitude. However, they appear to be staying so perhaps time at Grammeno will mellow them.

Earlier in the day, another customer took the trouble to ring me up to say goodbye even though I’d been less than attentive after I’d settled them in. Anyway, MARIA will be here in a couple of weeks so everything will be OK!

I rather ran out of day so the doggy rice didn’t get put on and the DDs processed until well after five. I then got bogged down trying to install a new printer at Wisdom Sports AKA Inter Sport H-H. They use a cutdown version of Windows 7 which might be causing problems with the installer.

Later, Georgia Loufadaki delivered the pussy with the teeth which she and Kartara have been looking after. He tested positive for FIV, the pussy version of HIV, so he’s unlikely to ever become too healthy.

I had enough time to eat some fakes and watch a gripping episode of The Professionals followed by the second episode of Fresh Fields. Then it was time for bed.

Cooler than the day before with some wind later and a few clouds. Generally, warm and sunny.
