Phew, Cooler!

Petra gave me a substantial portion of Gigantes of which half is in the fridge for another day. I eventually retired to my boudoir taking with me Oskar, Luis and Skinny. The Crazy Sisters both had their collars to remind them, almost successfully, not to bark in the night. We left the gate just after four-thirty.

A very pleasant cool breeze was coming from the north which made life a lot easier. It was warm, but nothing like some of the previous days. Kostas petted Skinny then the dogs and I crossed the rocks. The remainder of the walk was pretty uneventful.

With a slightly cooler day, the Crazies were generally more crazy than usual with plenty of chasing about and annoying barking. We avoided the small tent by the big rock which we encountered during the first walk then crossed the rocks to be back by 07:20. This was good as I wanted to change the Bar 3 camera.

I set off with a replacement camera, tools and a ladder to the bar. The guy was raking and the bar was waking up. I took down the camera and put up its replacement however there was no apparent improvement as there were still intermittent disconnections. All the right lights were on at the switch and I swapped over the ports. My next task was to put up one of the newly-arrived access points on the roof of the restaurant. For the past couple of winters I’ve taken the AP from the bar to put it outside at the west end of the restaurant and swapped it back again for the summer. We now have two APs one east, the other west! Just like before I borrowed one to put up by the bathroom for the motorhome bays.

My watch was almost flat so I put it on charge and made tea. I had some little IT tasks to perform anyway. Once the watch was around 50% I walked round to Alonáki for a swim. There was a gentle swell towards the beach so I went out to the buoy and back then walked back across the field.

I fed the dogs then prepared to do little until I received a call from ACS to say they were planning to deliver two packages for me. They eventually arrived and contained the valve core removal tool and the digital calliper which both look very good. Previously, I’d had a call from Ingo who is on an island in Germany with Kalliope. They are planning to come to the camping at the end of August with some friends. Kalliope was more interested to know the number of dogs so I told her I now have three crazy females! She will doubtless drag Ingo out early in the morning to go walking with them.

I spoke to Marisa as I petted Kira who amused herself devouring the plastic bags in which my deliveries had arrived. Being Friday, it was busy at reception so I didn’t hang around too long. I took my packages and returned to the dogs which appeared silent.

Kira looking beautiful in her bed. She really is a delightful little dog!

The remainder of the afternoon sauntered by and was pleasant as it was so much cooler than the past week. As of now, the doggy rice is ready so it’s just a matter of leaping to my feet to feed them.

For a Friday at the end of July, the camping seems ominously quiet. Is there something people are not telling me?

Cooler than yesterday despite the forecast promising warmer weather today. It was still plenty hot enough yet not oppressively so.
