Bar 3

Due to my inability to get my act together, doggy feeding time was quite late and consequently it was gone eight by the time I reported for food. Nevertheless, Petra gave me a good helping of Gemista which I enjoyed. Not long after, I called it a day so retired to my boudoir.

The air was much colder as we walked down towards the rocks. I’d remembered to take my grubby dog walking T-shirt with me which was around my neck. I never actually put it on but it was the coolest morning I’d experienced for a while.

Either Kostas was having a lie-in or we’d missed him as there was no sign of his car. Some other cars were in the car park and we discovered a number of small tents and a maggot or two once it got light.

The girls came for their walk where we met a fisherman on his way from the car park and the guy we’ve seen several times. They seemed to have expended their energy on the first walk so were quite calm as we recrossed the rocks for the nth time.

I took a box of cable to the bar in order to replace the cable to the Bar 3 camera which has become progressively faulty. It wasn’t seven—thirty when I arrived, Zoe was setting up the bar and customers were already arriving. I’d hope for at least thirty-minutes peace.

I completed my cabling which included petting the cats and a brief chat to the regular customer who’s staying six weeks in Ξ6. During the high season what’s more! I returned to the dogs and put my watch on charge. I’d had the intention of going for a swim but felt it too late when I woke up just after ten. In stead, I fed the dogs and made some tea.

It was warm and I remained inactive until later in the day when I sprang to life and walked round to Alonáki for the swim I’d intended earlier. By this time, it was afternoon so the beach was somewhat more busy that it would have been in the morning. The sea was a little rougher as a wind had blown up making a few waves. I swam and then walked back to the dogs which were silent.

I’d taken the precaution of putting the doggy rice in the pot on a timer which was probably a good thing as I sat down and fell asleep again. That’s what a swim and a warm breeze does for you.

What else have I done today, not a lot really…

Whist at the bar this morning, I saw a ghost. In fact it was Anna who helped Bona last year and they worked well together. She would have come sooner but she’d had Aussie guests so was unable. It was great to see her again and Bona will be very pleased to have reliable help who knows what to do!

Slightly warmer than yesterday despite the cooler start and the wind. The morning was the coolest for a long time. Looking at the forecast for the next few days, Monday and Tuesday could be a couple of degrees warmer however mornings are likely to be cooler which suits me down to the ground.
