Some lunatic let off a load of firecrackers just after midnight. I was sleeping blissfully to awake to that racket and the sound of Isabella crashing through the gate into the van. Sasha was inside and Maya joined us shortly after. It was a little warm for so many dogs inside but we survived. I contemplated various ways of torturing people who let off fireworks in the night risking burning down the entire island. Luis got quickly persuaded to shut up when I put his collar on him. Little did he know that the remote was outside.

The morning was chilly by comparison so my t-shirt got put on and off again several times. Fortunately, it was too dark for anyone to notice how dirty it was.

There was a distinct lack of vehicles in the car park or even along the beach track. Only after the bridge did we come across two small vans and a selection of cars. I think the cars belonged to people staying in the accommodation across the road. It seemed to remain dark for some while as I didn’t turn off their lights until we arrived at Azzuro for the second visit.

The girls came out for a wander around the Promontory and amused themselves by racing around madly and barking loudly. We were back before seven-thirty!

I drank tea and entertained my brain before riding to Anatoli for some bread with a quick swim at Alonáki on the way back. Whilst in the water, the bin technicians arrived to see to the bins in the car park and the houses. Then a JCB and a tipper arrived with a load of hardcore which they deposited on the road between the junction and the bridge. It would appear that there is effort being made to make something of that track. In winter, it quickly turns to puddles or lakes as the water flows from the greenhouse roofs.

I returned to decant another bag of dog food into containers as the dogs looked patiently on. They eventually got some to eat and I need to order some more as that is the last bag. Bona’s supply of HELL is down to the last twelve tins and now she has Anna as a drinking partner.

I made more tea then sat down for a morning of inactivity. Is wasn’t totally inactive as I managed to pick up some poo too. I’m not sure what I was doing but I’m sure it was very important.

A cooler start to a warm day which was 2ºC warmer than Sunday. There was little wind but plenty of sunshine. Some waves as I was swimming but more a swell.
