Happy Birthday JANNE

The evening passed quietly into a rather warm night without any explosions. The girls were outside and there was no fussing.

I felt quite hot in the night despite my bed fan blowing from my feet. It was still sticky in the morning as we walked towards the rocks where we met Kostas as he was carrying the salt to his car. We didn’t linger long and went our separate ways. With the full moon, it was easier to see, even though the moon wasn’t far from setting. This is the first morning we’ve seen the moon in this cycle.

It felt quite warm as we walked the track to Azzuro passing a couple of motorhomes the other side of the junction. One had a dog and turned out to be from UK when it was light. We paddled at Azzuro then walked back on the beach to the rocks and round again. The dogs had their lights on until Azzuro although I could have turned them off before.

On the way to Azzuro the second time, Skinny, Sasha and Obi introduced themselves to the UK motorhome and on the way back they all met up with their dogs of which one is a German Shepherd. We went back to the camping then I took the girls out once again. Our walk was swift and uneventful.

I had a sit and they rode to Paleochora for some carrots and rice for the DDs with a stop at Alonáki on the way back. The sea was calmer today and there was a young family in the sea. The father and daughter were swimming and the mother was on a paddle board.

I made up the DDs, fed the dogs then sat down with a cup of tea. It was a welcome rest and I fell asleep. Something to do with exercise and warm weather.

For the remainder of the day I’ve been shopping in China for a gas regulator and connection adaptor amongst other things. I’ve learned a lot about gas bottle connection fittings and have hopefully purchased the correct adaptor to connect the gas to the regulator. I had no idea there are so many different types. Interchangeable they are not! I should imagine the regulator will arrive about the same time as the N2 as things are coming from China much more quickly. At one point I gave up as delivery could easily take two months. Now, it’s a couple of weeks or so.

I phoned Janne to wish him Happy Birthday and he told me it’s raining in Stockholm. Erica is happy as she has been working in the garden of their little house in the countryside. Janne tells me he enjoyed a cake given by Erica. They will be coming to Grammeno in the first part of September.

The day has been warm but not amazingly so. There was no wind just plenty of sunshine.

Monthly summary for July 2023. The high was actually 44ºC so not quite as hot as 44,2ºC the all time record for my observation.
Pleasantly cooler than yesterday but quite hot in the night and early morning
