Travelling Around

The evening passed uneventfully as did the night until there was an elephants’ ballet on the decking followed by Sasha noisily chewing what must have be at least a dinosaur relic. I gave up trying to sleep around 04:00 and pretended from then on.

With the moon still quite full and higher in the sky, I hardly used my torch at all. We all, except for Luis made it to the rocks and then to Azzuro. Luis we met on the way back. It was darker but lighter due to the height and strength of the moon so we were doing well time-wise.

Sasha alerted me to maggots in the track above the Small Beach and, had it not been for Oskar deciding to bark at them, our presence might have gone unnoticed. We diverted around the Big Rock and up the steep track to the rocks for biscuits. Except Luis who could have been anywhere.

Back to Azzuro along the beach by which time it was properly light and then to the camping. I was able to drop off the boys, feed Moggy, pick up the thrower and walk the girls and be back all before seven-thirty. Admittedly, there was a lot of ball-throwing involving swimming with plenty of running around. I didn’t feel it necessary to walk any further and they were puffing well. The morning was the coolest for a long time which helped with the speed at which we accomplished the entire event.

I rode to Anatoli and Petrakis later to order some doggy food which might have been delivered, and some Hell for Bona. I should really have a look. I stopped for a swim at Alonáki and went back to put on the DD’s and feed the dogs.

I collapsed with a cup of tea and started to enjoy my day of travel. I managed to visit Lewes twice and then Wallingford. All without leaving the comfort of my chair. Eleanor took me on a walk around Lewes, with stops at the Railway Land, Pells, Cliff and Malling via Tesco and Simon’s flat exteriorly to view his diamond trellis. Back to her house with a view of the garden from earlier in the season to admire the roses. Apparently, there has been an abundance of blueberries and raspberries. Our final trip was to St Thomas’ Clock which Eleanor winds twice per month on the winder’s rota. She was off to play bowls and Kallie was grabbing a quick snooze following a busy morning watching the ducks, exploring the Railway Land and the walk back home. My second Lewes visit was to Castle Banks for a quick IT support call.

I didn’t have long to wait until I spoke to Ursula in Wallingford. There were no photographic visits but I was there in spirit. We were on the phone for quite a while until finally, Ursula needed to prepare to go to collect Tony from PlayGroup.

I then fell asleep following my virtual exertions and woke up in time to process the DDs as their rice was ready. What a busy day! All that’s left now is a wander to the kitchen in search of some food and to eat it!

Cooler than yesterday with a significantly cooler night and early morning. There was plenty of sunshine and a little wind as the day went on. Tomorrow is forecast to be about the same however the threat of rain early Sunday morning is becoming less likely. We will know if it does as it’s forecast for around four.
