Warmer and Dryer

Petra had a day off so it was Eva who served me some Gemista with lots of [oven] potatoes. I understand Eva had the day before off as did Bona. This explains why the tins were still there when I came to replenish them.

I watched an episode of UFO which I’d rather I hadn’t as it was particularly long and drawn out totally lacking in pace. The dreaded YouTube shorts and a couple of more lengthy items so then it was time for bed.

It rained in the night as I’d left three towels on the line to dry. I only discovered this when I went out onto the decking. Not only was it wet but also very cloudy so no sign of the moon. Venus put in an appearance later.

The sky darkened and there were flashes of lightning followed by thunder which caused Skinny to become my friend. After the first visit to Azzuro he veered off towards the camping however I continued as I’d left my thin fleece over a fence post as it was quite warm.

I could feel rain in the air and the lightning was becoming more frequent so I headed back to the van. The boys went in and the girls stayed outside on the decking with me. It started to rain, rained harder accompanied by rumbling and flashing (not in that order) then it was all over. We set off again and didn’t go back until we’d completed both walks with the whole company present. The girls felt short-changed as they ought to have gone out again. I explained they’d walked 8km which was enough but they were having none of it. The sisters danced around then eventually settled down.

I went into Paleochora wearing my dog-walking T-shirt which is overdue for a wash so was wearing a light fleece over the top. I wished I hadn’t as the temperature was already 30ºC just after nine.

I cruised around Paleochora for a little while then rode back. There was plenty of wave activity on Alonáki Beach so I didn’t feel much like stopping there.

I fed the dogs, made tea and sat down to recuperate for a while. I messed around with some files after checking emails and deleting the surplus.

I then checked my Meteobridge which had decided to reset itself forgetting nearly all of its setting. Unfortunately, the configuration backup I could find was rather elderly and it took me a while to work out that the Meteobridge doesn’t take kindly to uploading files from the iPad. I eventually restored an elderly configuration file from my Mac which did the trick.

My next plan was to investigate some of the files which deal with daily weather data at the end of the day. Reading through some of the php files I could get an idea as to why my export file produced incorrect results.

Long story short, I’ve managed to produce an almost sensible data file which I’ve implanted on the server so we’ll see what happens. This website data is more of an exercise than anything else although it would be good if all the historical data were present. Like many things I’ve done, it’s part of a learning activity more than anything else. Especially considering the time involved.

The sound of the sea is behind me. It’s been warm and sunny all day and not as windy as yesterday. The sisters are bored and waiting to be fed using the time to cavort on the decking. A good thing as it wears them out without the need to go out on another walk or them barking at the customers.

Time for some food!

Warmer than yesterday with more sunshine and a lot less rain. The sea is still crashing on Alonáki Beach as the wind is from the east. The beach has been significantly remodelled.
