Winter Website

It was spaghetti with Neapolitan sauce and salad for supper. Petra seemed apologetic when she told me, as usually the offering is more interesting. I watched the first episode of The Tower which I understand it intriguing as well as gripping. I was a little later to bed as I fell asleep…

There was a stronger wind and plenty of darkness as I stepped out onto the decking. I persuaded Oskar to join us for the walk by luring him outside with the promise of food. It worked and I shut the door behind him.

There was a solo motorhome on the beach track and no other vehicles as we emerged to commence our trek towards the rocks. Soon after, a car parked not far from the motorhome and two men were seen approaching the beach. They were fishermen. Later on, a van arrived and three young men appeared on the east side on the big rocky promontory.

Other than a few dogs sloping off for clandestine encounters with the Smelly Fish, we were back and out again by 06:45. Only the girls and a single ball today. We met a man walking who was pleased to encounter the girls and seemed used to being with dogs.

It was now quite windy so I hung around hoping it would moderate before riding into Paleochora. I needed some additional items even though I went shopping the previous day. Petrakis was quite busy for a Sunday.

I fed the dogs and made tea before settling down to start my day. I’d been thinking about the winter website during the walk and had decided I’d start over and remove the old booking site. I backed this up to the NAS and then created a WP site for camping.grammeno.eu. I’d intended to replace the Google Business website ages ago but hadn’t got around to it. Much of my day has been devoted to this.

This site is intended to be used only during the winter and will still be linked to the Google Business Profile but will be given out to customers when they arrive. It contains information about the camping, facilities, with ideas of things to do and services provided by the camping.

The Google website has only text however the plan is to pepper this one with useful images to make it more relevant and palatable.

It is still quite windy, mostly from the north, so not terribly warm outside. Indeed, I’m sitting inside to write this missive, the first time for a very long while. I’ve even turned off the AC!

The dogs will be getting their evening meal a little later as I only discovered I’d not turned on the pot when I came to take out the rice! Something probably distracted me so I’d forgotten to turn it on.

I’ve been down to the kitchen where Petra filled my container with Gigantes which I will eat with some rice. Once the doggy dinners have finished of course.

Cooler than yesterday with quite a strong wind from the outset. Tomorrow is forecast to have stronger winds and be slightly cooler. I think we can safely say that summer is over for the time being.
