ZERO

Gemista with loads of extra potatoes accompanied by Hercule solving a very interesting double-murder, this time by a woman. Janne and Erica were out picking up Janne’s sister from the airport. It was past bedtime when they returned.

It seemed to be quiet when I woke up but there was some wind and it was cool enough to warrant a polo shirt with the collar up as well as a thin fleece. There were NO/ZERO cars or other vehicles either in the beach car park OR on the track at the top of the beach. It’s been a while since this situation has arisen.

Oskar decided not to honour us with his presence for the first walk but managed, with a little help from a chunk of bread, to come out with the girls on the second. Like yesterday, the boys seemed quite keen to be back in the comfort of the van.

The girls performed as usual, in and out of the sea with lots of chasing of the ball. Isabella was suitably tired out and has been in a state of collapse under the decking all day. The other two were not very active either but are more lively now beating each other up on the decking.

I waited for the wind to calm a little before riding into Paleochora for bread. It was still quite blowy and gusty but nothing like yesterday when I opted out and ate day-old, disgusting, white bread obtained from the kitchen. Petra apologised on behalf of the bakery for not delivering fresh bread. The white bread from Vakakis is generally pretty insipid, more so when a day old.

There were a lot of people walking and cycling on the pedestrian/cycleway for me to bulldoze out of my path in both directions. The wind had dropped as I rode back but it took me just over thirty minutes to ride to and from as well as the interaction with the sales technician in the bakery.

After feeding the dogs and making tea, I settled down to the lengthy task of preparing an invoice for EG as it’s that time of the year again. Just a matter of going through my emails and logging each support request. As for the rest of the time, I might have watched some YouTube videos to recover from the invoicing and I also installed the internal air pollution sensor which doesn’t appear to be connecting to the WiFi at present.

Other tasks included picking up poo and fixing one of the USB 5v power supplies which just required a little hot glue to make it good.

I watched an interesting video from someone who is not going to review the new Apple Watch Ultra two because it’s so similar to the original Ultra. His presentation took place as he was driving his car yet there was no background noise.

Overall, not a terribly active day but some useful jobs are out of the way.

The sisters are now flat out on the decking following their burst of activity, their minds temporarily diverted from the thought of food. The wind is still quite strong…

Despite being less windy than yesterday, today was slightly cooler than yesterday and possibly windier than I anticipated. Tomorrow should be less windy and a little warmer too.
