Filling up

I was about to start eating when Maria called to say a couple had arrived with a motorhome. Naturally, at 19:30 in the dark, I was consumed with joy. Especially when the couple had called earlier to advise of their intention to arrive late but the message had failed to reach me. I popped them in Bay 1 then went back to Lewis and my meal of Gigantes in tomato with rice. The beans were disappointing as they were a little dry. They were soaked overnight and cooked for quite a while but were tough.

The morning rolled around to reveal it had been damp in the night as water had run off the roof onto the sun blocker and thence to the decking below. Only Cornelia’s van was parked on the track as we walked to Azzuro. The light was on today although off a couple of days ago. I don’t know how long they’ll remain open.

I started the DDs when I put the boys inside then took the girls for their walk to Azzuro. The three fishing rods and the fishermen’s tent were at the top of the beach. Until it was demolished, there used to be a no camping sign about where their tent was pitched.

Cornelia was sitting outside her van so the sisters went to say hello. Isabella was jealously guarding her ball having already been in the sea several times to retrieve it.

We chatted about batteries as hers is losing charge so requires checking. We continued onto the Promontory and then back to the camping. It was around nine so I fed the dogs before going into the camping to find the couple who arrived the evening before.

Together, we walked the camping and they are now down by the beach parked into a small spot not far from Gabi. The rest of the morning turned into a continual stream of activity including the arrival of a Swiss guy who simply drove into the camping and parked up. Someone had left the bar up when she left for work…

Altogether, there were three other arrivals: an Italian couple in Ξ6 for six nights, a French couple and another French couple. Lucy, the Dutch woman, was on her way through the camping to Paleochora but had forgotten her satellite dish was still vertical. Fortunately, we stopped her before she reached the trees and replaced the fuse so it could go back down.

Mickey helped Giuseppe, the Swiss guy, to move his van and set up his satellite too. Giuseppe has taken Mickey’s old place. Later, I saw them chatting together, which is a good thing during the winter. Friendships usually keep people in the camping longer…

The Austrians wanted a wash so I put theirs in after Lucy who has now paid her month. The last French couple to arrive also had a wash.

The score for today was five arrivals, two departures and three washes. A German couple drove into the camping looking for a place as the barrier had been left open by someone returning from her day at school. I also discovered we have someone in T2. Apparently, Bona knew but no one had thought to mention it to me! I’ll just keep my end straight and Georgia and Maria can argue about the rest.

I think I might have the rest of the day off and get something to eat.

Warmer than yesterday with lots of sun and little wind. The sea was busy again.
