Tuesday

I checked the weather to assure myself it wouldn’t rain then prepared the dogs for their walk. In contrast to the previous day, the sky was clear, there was no moon so the stars were wonderfully visible in all their glory. There was a slight southeasterly breeze but no wet feet crossing the causeway.

Our trip to Azzuro took us past the usual array of parked motorhomes although the couple with the van which checked-in and out within an hour were not present. They said they might go for a look around the island then return. They left me 50€ so I’m not bothered either way.

The rest of the walk passed quickly so we were back at the camping so the three smaller dogs could go inside as Skinny elected to join the girls once more. I started the DDs and then we set off complete with a new thrower as I gave the other one to Betty since hers is broken.

Most of the activity was at the beginning as Isabella took the decision to hang onto the balls after that. I have a cunning plan to thwart her which I may enact tomorrow. It involves taking lots of balls to confuse the hell out of her. Even her mouth can carry so many.

I rode to Anatoli for bread then to Petrakis for some bits for the DDs. The trip back was gentle as there was little wind. A cyclist riding west-east saw me only at the last moment as the sun is so low in the sky at present. He was a little surprised and took evasive action without crashing into the sea.

I delivered bread then collected money from Kevin, the guy who was in Oz for years. They plan to disappear for a few days then return for a longer period.

I went back and fed dogs, finished the DDS and made tea. I’d even managed to put some beans on during the walk and cook them before the DDs.

The rest of the day included a visit to the washing machine, some tidying up of the decking area and a chat with a Greek punter who called from the car park. He asked how much he owed for the shower he and his partner had just enjoyed. I wanted to say that it might have been nicer to ask before partaking but this is Greece. They wanted to go to Elafonissi and planned one of the routes offered my Mr Google which would be practicable for a 4×4 but not a motorhome. I tried to talk them out of their visit to Elafonissi but they appeared determined.

I went back and vacuumed the rug which has had stuff stacked on it for ages. The stuff has been partially consolidated and so the rug is a slightly better colour. Maya should be happy as her sleeping area has now increased. I want to clear the decking area, remove the rug then relocate it so that it doesn’t get wet when it rains. Some modification to the west screen might be in order as it chucks water onto the decking and not off the edge onto the ground. A simple sheet of heavy polythene should do the trick. Or even some roofing felt!

There was a support call from Sue who was at Wisdom Sports setting up the printer. We eventually got it working again. Fortunately, I’d already fed the dogs who often decide to play up when I’m on the phone near teatime. Luis finally got something to eat as I didn’t feed him this morning because he’d been taking lumps out of the foam cushion remnant which I sit on. I even had to sweep the van out which I’d done only days ago! I even have a new broom as in sweep clean.

The day was generally warm and sunny with a wonderful blue sky. There was a little wind later and both Bona and I decided it was chilly. She came in to do a half-hour of cleaning. I think the can of Hell I keep in my fridge helps her to chillax after a busy day at the greenhouse. Her smallest was with her today.

Giuseppe leaves tomorrow morning after nearly a month at Grammeno. He’s returning to his wife in Switzerland.

A coolish but clear start followed by a blue sky and fine, sunny weather with just a hint of coolness in the air later in the day.
