Saturday

I enjoyed a great episode of Endeavour then went on to watch BBT and something on YouTube. I managed to stay awake but wasn’t too late going to bed.

I woke at four and we were out just after four-thirty. Cooler than yesterday but also lighter and less windy. The moon was mostly overhead which is very helpful when it’s dark. We completed without incident than I took the girls plus Skinny.

Down to Azzuro chasing the ball there and back then over the Promontory with some messing around on the beach, more ball and then back.

It was a quick run to Paleochora after I turned on the immersion heater for the main bathroom. The boiler was not starting up for the same reason each time. It was 07:45 when I set off so still felt quite cool when riding my bike. Just one loaf from Anatoli and back to deliver to Lucy.

I had DDs to make so fed the dogs and got on with that. A customer wanted to pay so I went to see them. The Dutch lady’s friend is going back but she’ll be back on 18th she tells me to spend Christmas at the camping.

Mickey wanted the wash machine which was my next trip out. I eventually got back after several interruptions. Then Georgia was showing a friend T4 because he wants to experience van life. He spent time in UK as a ship’s wireless operator. I suggested he needs space inside and out and might be spending most of his life outside if he does it right.

Georgia seemed pleased with November’s takings but really only wanted the figures. I gave her the money and the summary which had printed once the power came back on. She has two copies now.

Yiannis came to look at the boiler and told me it was over pressure. He showed me how it should be in winter. Another wintertime adjustment to remember. I talked about he water heaters on the storeroom roof and he will give Toni a product to put into them. We now have reliable hot water in the bathrooms and kitchen again.

Zoe and I watched Mickey flying his drone. She was loading the car ready to return to Chania. The oil is done and she is feeling better so they’re going back to their appartment. With Maria away, it’s just me again!

I processed the DDs and fed the dogs so Luis is now snoring at my feet for a change. The others are outside but want to come in. I have mega-salad tonight with a fresh crop of black-eyed beans.

Cooler and cloudier but not very windy. Much of next week is looking unsettled.
