Monday

There was the sound of rain on the roof so I turned off the alarm and went back to sleep. The rain finally stopped around 06:45 so I checked the forecast and got up. There was still the possibility of rain but I thought we’d live dangerously.

Our walk was short, only 45 minutes and no extra for the girls. I wanted to get into Paleochora to get bread and stuff for the DDs. I knew that Lucy, Kevin and Antje wanted to go out so wanted to get back.

I took the bread then brought the girls to the beach for twenty minutes. The trio disappeared to Rethymno to look at the monastery.

With the dogs fed and the DDs out of the way I could relax a little. Peter sent me a meeting request for 14:00 but then changed it for 15:00. Later, Jamie contacted me to ask for the washing machine. It was then I discovered the boiler was on strike.

After several attempts, the boiler didn’t start so I’ll leave it to contemplate its future overnight. I had a shower and a meeting with Peter. I’m still unable to fix his calendar so he’s starting a new one.

Betty was being looked after by Gizmo but she disappeared when he was playing ball with her. He was getting fed up as he hadn’t quite realised how long they might be out or just got involved with wishful thinking.

I took Sasha and Maya out looking for Betty and found her back at their van so attached her and left Gizmo to deal with her.

My washing was mostly dry as it was quite windy. I shared the machine with Jamie as he had so little. I now have clean clothes AND a shower. Time to celebrate and it’s before Christmas!

The day has been warm but a wind came up in the afternoon which made it more chilly.

Cooler than yesterday and much cloudier in the morning once the initial blue sky disappeared. Around 10.5mm precipitation was recorded early morning but nothing since. Tomorrow looks a lot like today but without the rain.
