Summer Shorts!

The mornings start earlier and the evenings appear to be getting longer. Indeed, there is no room for dispute as this is the case. Just that the changes are becoming noticeable.

Jack Frost finds himself back in the barracks with the other coppers having left the room above the curry house, to their great relief of the Indians. He had a complicated murder to solve with plenty of other distractions but, as expected, he solved all of the cases. I got onto YouTube to watching longer videos about subjects which interest me but might seem the reverse to many others.

Only Obi decided to remain outside, quite by accident as I thought he was inside. We were out at four-forty-five to a clear, chilly morning with just a light breeze. I was pleased to have remembered my gloves today. The moon helped out but is getting thinner by the day. We didn’t make it to Azzuro again as the river is still fast and wide but has now developed some central islands but is still uncrossable if you want to keep your feet dry.

We completed the first walk with only the loss of Oskar who eventually turned up at the van as I went to feed Moggy. I went out again with The Crazies and Skinny who is less inclined to disappear now that the bitch has finished her season. There were men still fishing who had been there before we arrived before six. They must be catching stuff as it’s quite chilly standing still with a pole in your hand.

I went to Anatoli and Petrakis. The latter not for a definitive shop but there were things I needed more urgently: I’ll get the rest tomorrow. It was a pleasant ride there and back whereupon I delivered bread to Lucia and the Wrights for the last time as they’ll be leaving either tomorrow or the next day dependent upon the ferry. They have new neighbours now as a Dutch couple arrived in the afternoon and plan to stay for a week. We now have three Dutch vans, three German, one Swiss and the last from Slovenia.

I spent parts of the day trying to find an InfiniSolar hybrid inverter from a Greek supplier. I could buy a clone more cheaply from China but I think I’d prefer to spend a little more for the genuine article from a local supplier. I could buy manufacturer direct from China but delivery might be long as well as expensive due to the weight of the item. There are only two Greek suppliers I could find on Google selling this model. I shall complete more research over the weekend before placing an order.

Other than the arrival of the Dutch, there was just the matter of the four washes during the day. Joyce, Mickey and two washes for Nina, the last is yet to be delivered and it’s finished.

Otherwise, the day was warm and sunny providing scope for enjoyment. Toni might be less excited when I tell him the drains are backing up into the gent’s bathroom and the three external showers. It needs the drains to be dug up and a more robust drain installed to resist root invasion.

Generally warm and sunny with little or no wind. Quite uplifting!
