The episode of Luther was eventful now that his longterm adversary and maybe part time lover, Alice Morgan, recently presumed dead, has returned. Alice has an agenda which does not quite coincide with Luther’s. He is coming to terms with her sudden reappearance which interrupted his grieving. Her return brings plenty of trouble for everyone…

Skinny interrupted my slumbers feigning a desire to go outside to pee. He may have done so however I suspect his real reason was to abscond over the fence which he did with ease. I think the Force is still being disturbed by Athena, the female bear, who is getting to or has reached the end of her current cycle. Skinny joined us just in time for biscuits upon our return from the river which is still running well but to a lesser extent.

We completed the second circuit of The Promontory and returned to base. I fed the cats then took Skinny plus the girlies for a second walk to the glass recycling and then as far as the river with the ball. They all crossed the river and Skinny went marching on to make sure Azzuro had survived in our absence. Meanwhile, the others raced around on the beach and in the sea retrieving the ball.

I rode to Paleochora via Panorama in search of bread which I found at Anatoli. An unfamiliar sales representative served me and gave me a round and not a long, brown loaf. I didn’t complain as a change is as good as a rest. I rode back to put on washing for the Brügmann’s and give bread to Lucia. Joyce emerged from her van as we spoke, looking more sprightly than at the same time the previous day. Apparently, she’d been carrying out an experiment involving ouzo during the Wright’s gathering on the beach the previous evening. Joyce’s conclusion was that excessive amounts of Ouzo in the evening can make you feel less than optimal the following day. Been there, done that!

I fed the dogs and made DDs, washed dishes and then sat in the sun which was already very warm and pleasant. There were quite a few clouds earlier so I feared the day would end up a little light on sunshine. The morning continued warm. I probably fell asleep as a result of my early awakening but I had no particular mission other than to return the laundry.

The dogs have had an equally demanding day which required lots of sleeping in the sun with the occasional relocation to the shade of the decking to cool off. They are probably nearly ready for some Doggy Dinners which require me to process them first.

As the day wore on, I became more motivated and cut my hair followed by a shower in the solar cubicles. The shower was on the chilly side however the cubicle was warm. I plan to carry out an experiment involving cutting off the water to the buildings to see if the hot is simply leaking away into the ground. I need to see if it’s possible to isolate the buildings leaving the cubicles still functional.

All in all, the day hasn’t been very productive other than to write an email to the company which makes the inverter monitoring software before purchasing a replacement inverter. The intended purchase is made by Voltronic, a large, Chinese firm, which also makes the current inverter. I’d prefer to continue with the current software as it does the job.

A potential customer from across the Atlantic called yesterday evening to ask if it would be possible to stay the ‘weekend’ at the camping. He said that he’d arrive in an hour to an hour-and-a-half which filled me with joy considering it was already half-five. I suggested he might like to help himself to one of the empty motorhome spaces on the entrance road and that I’d catch up in the morning. Sadly, it would appear that my effusive welcome probably deterred him. Sorry, but not really worth the pain for someone who might appear and for only one night. A lot of effort for a measly 10€.

Much warmer than yesterday despite the occasional cloudy intervals. What wind there is, feels very chilly now the sun is on its last legs and heading for the horizon.
Snowy mountains to the east
