The entire evening was spent viewing YouTube videos. More complete builds from cold countries and a documentary about the construction of three French motorways: l’Aquitaine which goes towards Bordeaux, Le Périphérique, the Paris version of M25 and the A40 to Switzerland. The documentary concentrated on the technical hurdles encountered during the construction process and the solutions to mitigate them. OK, so I’m sad!

I was awake early so we were out on the track. There are now three separate German-registered vehicles by the beach but the car which has recently been in the car park wasn’t there. Both feet remained dry, Obi found out that I was keeping a close eye on him as did Skinny. Tomorrow, my eye will be even closer as they need to learn to keep up and not go wandering off. A certain amount of latitude is permissible but visits to other people’s property and the camping are not.

Skinny and the girls went to Azzuro once more then I went to Paleochora for bread and groceries as I had no tomatoes. Little did I know that Bona would bring me a whole load of small tomatoes later in the day.

The weather forecast initially talked thunderstorms and a certain amount of rain. So far today, we’ve had one short shower just long enough for me to go outside to put my bike away before it stopped. Tomorrow is supposed to be about the same as today but more rain might appear on Sunday evening.

It turned out to be mostly sunny and warm with a few cloudy intervals. I kept myself amused and may have fallen asleep too. I had a call from Bona advising me that she would bring tomatoes and that her visit would be brief. Long enough for some cleaning and to drink Hell with Noel. She’s yet to have her teeth fitted so we await the final result. She gave me long instructions about buying cigars, filters and papers from the periptero, the tobacconist, tomorrow morning. She breaks the cigars up and then rolls them up into cigarettes.

I’m trying to help Lucia sort out her various IT and security difficulties which is not straightforward as she is not very patient. Trying to sort out her passwords, accounts and banking arrangements is quite demanding especially as she has no interest or understanding of IT. However, her family are keen for her to get more organised so I’m trying to help. After all, the Christmas events were a success mostly due to all the hard work she put in. What goes around…

Georgia came to the camping with cat food and her nephew Yiannis. He’s a strapping lad now but still at school which is a good thing as he wanted to chuck it all in and go to work at the filling station. I suggested to Manolis that Yiannis should be allowed to work there to see just how much of a tie the filling station is for what is really not that much money.

I’d sent pictures of the backing up drains to Georgia who says she will contact the plumbing and drainage firm to come sort it out. I’m sure Toni won’t feel disappointed! We’ve had series of sanitary-related problems with the hot water over Christmas and New Year, now sewage backing up in the drains and wastes. She’s the boss, so she can sort it.

There were a couple of support calls from Simon, who is going away to Inverness and then Skye and also EG about their email and IP problem.

Cloudy with no sign of the moon when it eventually decided to rise. I saw Venus briefly between the clouds. Mars had no chance. The day turned out much nicer than expected as the threatened thunderstorms went elsewhere. It was warmer than yesterday with a high of 21.4ºC.
