Another night in court, not with Perry Mason but Judge John Deed. He was dealing with a fragile youth accused of murdering a young girl. He’d effectively been set up to take the fall. Deed was contacted by his policeman friend to look into corruption involving the legal profession including a couple of judges. His daughter, who’s studying law, did some research however it soon became apparent that there were parties with a vested interest who intended to put pressure on Deed and anyone remotely connected to him.

I finished watching the video about rescue buoys which ended at a maritime museum where there was a rather battered specimen of the British version of the buoy. Apparently, both models of the rescue buoy were very uncomfortable however the British version was supposedly more stable.

Maya was fidgeting at four but I persuaded her to go back to sleep until four-thirty when I got up. Sasha had elected to stay outside. We were soon out of the gate and on our way.

A camper van, a car and a motorhome were sharing the car park as we passed on the way to the rocks. We did the same walk as yesterday with the whole crew going to Azzuro twice. I even managed to keep the dogs out of the gardens most of the time.

I took Skinny and the girls back down the Promontory and over the rocks once more where there was ball-throwing and dashing about.

I rode over Panorama and then to the bakery. It’s good that, with the carnival tomorrow, it’s been decided to dig a long trench right through the west road with several other trenches, now filled in, crossing the road inland. I bought my loaf and went back.

Today, I fed the dogs before delivering bread to Lucia as I was going for a chat with Peter next to his new (to him) VW camper. He spent his first night there and reported it very comfortable. Having just acquired it, there is a lack of eating appliances so I brought my own mug which I’d planned to do anyway. Later, I donated some of my surplus forks and Peter went to the nearby supermarket to shop for other required items.

Our conversation was interrupted by a trip to the laundry with the Swiss who arrived a couple of days ago.

Indeed, there was a lot of wandering around so it was much later that I got my second cup of tea. Jamie wanted the washing machine after the Swiss so we shared a wash. That is to say, he brings his entire meagre wardrobe which I add to my wash then hang up and dry for him. There’s so little to do it’s easier than having him do it for himself so now he has clean, fresh clothes to wear.

I spoke to Georgia a couple of times about customers who plan to come tomorrow for the carnival. She said the solar water heater would be fixed however no one has appeared as far as I know. We have quite a few accommodation customers for the weekend which has kept Bona busy. I just put on some more sheets to wash then there’s one more blanket to do.

Google reminded me that, 21 years ago today, Danny took the Wrinklies and I for a trip to Northern France to visit the invasion beaches and museums. We stayed in a château and ate Dead Sea Creatures the two nights we were away. Staying at the château was interesting as was the trip because it was a belated surprise birthday from Mo to Jim. We visited Pourville on the way back to Dieppe.

One more trip to take out the latest batch of sheets and put in the last of the blankets, and I’m done for today. It’s been quite busy. The trend from now on I suspect.

A clear and starry morning with no wind to speak of. The day became a little windy later but was generally sunny and warm. Still good weather for tomorrow but the possibility for a little precipitation on Sunday.
