Relaxing Sunday

I finally got to bed after midnight having toured the camping and looked at the entrance camera long enough. The five families didn’t show and I received no call from them but that’s hardly surprising as they booked through Georgia and only called me once.

I finally heard the alarm and got up to take the dogs out. We were a little later as I was not really awake for some reason. We managed to walk to Azzuro and back twice with everyone and again with Peter and just the girls as Skinny had a bone.

I went to Paleochora directly as I was short of battery. A quick couple of loaves, one for the lady across the road. In fact, she wanted rusks but there was a communication failure.

The DDs were already prepared and cooking so I dropped bread to Lucia and went back to feed the dogs. The sun was shining so I sat down with some tea to enjoy it.

As the day wore on, the cloud increased and there were a few spots of rain in the afternoon and it became suddenly cold and windy. There was an arrival in the shape of a German couple in a Mercedes truck with big wheels. They’d caught the boat to Iraklion and driven from there. Sue kindly gave her place to them as she’s going in the morning so the couple are now by the beach.

I had a call from a Grammeno Frequent Flyer who wanted a room for his family of four small children. Angelos looks the eldest and they all look like boys so far. I put them in M4 which was one of those not used last night. 1/5 is better than 0/5. They want to fly kites in the morning and seem to be enjoying Lucia’s beach party this evening.

Another couple of families, which I recognise from last summer, were checking out the Ms or the summer. They are quite a good bunch.

I finally processed the DDs and fed them having given custody of the February money to Lena to pass on.

I just got a call from Tony as Skinny had jumped the fence to enjoy the beach party with the children who didn’t seem to mind his soppiness and size.

A chilly but clear start which became warmer and sunnier. Some cloud followed and a stiff breeze followed by a few drop of rain early afternoon. Tomorrow should be sunny.
